Nike SB GTS & Dunk Low Premium QS

Nike SB is set to drop a new premium QS pack this weekend, offering up a raw take on the popular Dunk Low and newly re-introduced GTS silhouettes. The shoes upper has been decked out with a heavy-duty, un-dyed canvas for a rugged, rustic look. With tonal lacing on the GTS and contrasting black lacing on the Dunk Low, both styles have been accented with black swoosh detailing and sits on top of a white sole unit. The shoe's hardwearing canvas will give the wearer durability and protection for increased wear, while the Zoom Air heel unit ensures optimal cushioning upon impact.

Alongside some of the brands more daring, perhaps less wearable, silhouettes that have already hit the shelves this year, it's good to see the brands continue to work with some of their classics to offer more accessible styles that will not only skate well, but look good on the foot too. The Nike SB GTS & Dunk Low Premium QS are set to drop this Saturday the 16th of April over on the brands webstore.

Alltimers x adidas Skateboarding

New York natives Alltimers celebrate the good life in their latest collaborative effort with adidas Skateboarding.

The limited-edition release consists of vintage sportswear inspired apparel, including a track jacket reminiscent of those worn during the Boston Marathon back in the 80's, some bold mesh-lined football shorts and a dual-branded tee. Rounding off the small capsule is a re-worked Superstar Vulc, which draws design cues from the "The Hogan", a casual 80's silhouette. The shoe has been constructed from a full grain white leather uppers and hairy suede panelling on the side panel and heel, finished with dark blue stripe detailing and a gold foil league player print on the lateral side of the shoe, all of which compliments the apparel selection.

To commemorate the release, Alltimers have come through with some truly inspiring visuals to showcase the goods and show you how they're living. Unfortunately there's no UK retailers as far as I can see, but you can pick up the goods at Copenhagen's Street Machine.

Vans Spring 2016 Checkerboard Collection

Off the back of their 50th anniversary celebrations, Vans pay homage to the iconic checkerboard motif with a new collection consisting of several key styles.

The checkerboard pattern has grown to become as representative of the brand as the side stripe logo and trademark waffle outsole, having been applied to rework pretty much all of the brands most popular styles over the years. Listening to the community around them is something that Vans does so well and has ensured the brand has continued to remain relevant to this day. The original checkerboard design drew inspiration from the youth of their native California who were drawing the pattern over the simple canvas upper to customise their Vans. Needless to say once Vans picked up on the trend and decided to apply the pattern themselves, it was an instant hit with their fans and continues to be a mainstay in the brands line up today.

To celebrate the designs' role in Vans rich history, the brand have put together a new collection featuring the Old Skool, Slip-On, Sk8-Hi and the new Dazie-Hi silhouette, sitting alongside a range of apparel and accessories. A vibrant seasonal palette of Spruce Yellow, Rhubarb Burgundy, Citadel Blue and Espresso Brown gives a nod to Vans' Southern Cali roots, and compliments the checkerboard detailing.

The Vans Spring 2016 Checkerboard Collection is now available online and at select retailers.
