5Boro Deck series BTL BU

5Boro stay killing it with their deck series as they develop on their hugely popular 2014 VHS series release with three brand new designs.

Having put out some of the strongest deck graphic designs of the last year or so, including the first VHS series, Stefan Marx ‘Airline Series and the tropical ‘Caliente’ Series, 5Boro revisit the skate video golden era and pay homage to the VHS tapes of the 90’s in their latest release. The series consists of three debut pro models of Rob Gonyon, Silvester Eduardo and Jordan Trahan, with the graphics inspired by the designs on the old TDK blank VHS tapes.

The 5Boro NYC ‘VHS II’ Deck Series is available now at www.5boronyc.com and will be landing at all good UK skate stores shortly.

Gosha x Vans 1

Gosha Rubchinskiy x Vans Authentic

Having already worked his creative magic on the iconic Sk8-Hi, Slip-On and Old Skool silhouettes, Gosha Rubchinskiy now turns his attention to perhaps the most staple silhouette of the Vans archive - the Authentic.

Through previous work, it's clear that skateboarding has played a huge role in developing Gosha Rubchinskiy as an artist and provides a lot of inspiration for his work, eventually leading him to release 'YOUTH HOTEL', a photography book that focused on skateboarding and various other facets of youth culture in Russia . The Authentic has its name etched in to the skateboarding history books as one of the first shoes adopted by skaters in California back in the early 70's. The young Russian artist has reworked the simplistic Authentic with four new colour schemes of black, white, sky blue and tea rose, all of which feature black lacing and a contrasting black sole unit with white piping. Each style is completed with Gosha Rubchinskiy's Cyrillic text logo emblazoned across the heel.

The Gosha Rubchinskiy x Vans Authentic were available at Dover Street Market towards the end of last week but sold through extremely quickly. Luckily you will have a second chance to pick up a pair with Goodhood as they go on sale in-store and online at 11am on Friday the 22nd of January.

BEINGHUNTED X CIVILIST

Civilist x BEINGHUNTED. ‘Patrol’ T-Shirt

2016 continues to deliver the goods as two brands who sit at the very pinnacle of their field within the skate and streetwear industry -  Civilist and BEINGHUNTED., team up to create the limited edition 'Patrol' t-shirt to celebrate their long standing friendship. The Berlin natives draw inspiration from the neighbourhood watch groups that would patrol the streets of some of the worlds most notorious cities back in the 70's, applying a custom Civilist x BEINGHUNTED. 'Patrol' design as a small pocket print and large back graphic. Ultimately it's a graphic t-shirt, a well made graphic t-shirt, but there's no innovative materials, no crazy prints, things are kept pretty simple. What makes it great is that it's a graphic t-shirt done well by two great brands with history behind them, who have been contributing and helping to build street culture as we know it, and thats why we are fully backing it.

You can pick the Civilist x BEINGHUNTED. 'Patrol' T-Shirt up HERE

Brain Dead “World Update” Installation at DSM London

BrainDead-WorldUpdate-1

In celebration of common interests, Brain Dead and Dover Street Market come together on an exclusive collaborative collection and a new in-store installation at DSM’s London location.

The theme of both the collection and installation centres around the pairs shared passions in various trends and emerging subcultures from music, culture and art, and the space in-between these worlds. Although it’s their most diverse offering so far, it’s not the first time the two parties have come together on a collaborative venture, with Brain Dead putting their artistic direction towards an exclusive t-shirt collection towards the end of last year.

The new “World Update” installation is set to host exhibitions, as well as showcase zines, records and extremely limited art pieces that align with Brain Dead’s aesthetic. The main focus of the space will be the latest Brain Dead x DSM collaborative collection which features a monochromatic selection of unique graphic tees, crewneck sweatshirts, custom headwear and the stand out ‘Jumanji’ jacket. Capping it all off, there will also be a scarf exhibit displayed on the walls of the space, featuring the work of Clay Arlington, Kevin Harris, Tim Head, Chris Oh, Jen Shear and B. Thom Stevenson. Each piece is unique and arrives in editions of 5. When purchased each scarf will come with a hand-signed certificate from each artist and will be presented in a collectors box

You can shop the Brain Dead x Dover Street Market collection over on the DSM website now. If you’re around London over the next two weeks, be sure to head down to the store to check out the space.

HUF present the Soto

HUF announce the 'Soto' as the latest addition to it's ever expanding and ever improving footwear line, combining a heritage footwear aesthetic with modern innovative design.

The Soto shares similarities with the brands 'Choice' and 'Galaxy' silhouettes, most notably in the prominent "H" branding on the side panels, but differences appear in other areas of the stripped back upper which features a durable one-piece vamp wrapped around the toe for protection and improved flick. Much of the innovation in the Soto's design lies in the cup sole, made from the brands specially formulated 'Infinity Rubber', which is more durable, increases flexibility and provides added traction for optimal board feel. The molded insole and herringbone tread pattern on the hardwearing outsole complete the high-performance technology in one of the brands most accomplished skate shoes to date.

To celebrate the release of the HUF Soto, HUF have selected 18 stores throughout the US to submit videos of them skating the shoe to a Soto microsite to participate in a 'Weartest' Contest. You can check out the entry's HERE. The HUF Soto will be landing at all good skate stores this February.
