The Quiet Life Spring 2015 “56th & FIG” Collection

The Quiet Life lift the lid on their latest collection for Spring 2015 and their accompanying lookbook entitled “56th & Fig”.

The lookbook gets its name from the intersection of 56th Avenue and Figueroa Street in the Highland Park district of Los Angeles. This season The Quiet Life have enlisted the services of Dan Monick to produce these minimal visuals which compliment the clean, street ready designs that its showcasing. The collection is lead by several lightweight jacket options including coach jacket and quilted gilet styles, a series of wardrobe staples that we have come to expect from the brand including button-up shirts, long sleeves, hoodies and sweaters, as well as a healthy selection of headwear and several small capsules within the main line release including the Eden pack, Hawaiian pack and another instalment of the on going Camera Club collection. A range of cut and sew, colour blocking and pattern techniques have been applied to add some texture to the release.

We’ve seen a lot of what would be considered the ‘core’ streetwear brands out there continue to develop their ranges and take more of a focus in to cut and sew with more considered graphic pieces. Spring 2015 sees possibly Quiet Life’s most mature selection to date with vibrant hits in all the right places, keeping it simple where they need to. It’s great to see the brand move with the times while still remaining true their roots.

The Quiet Life Spring 2015 collection is available now at Urban Industry and 5Pointz

Vans teases “PROPELLER”

For the first time in it’s history, the worlds original skate apparel and footwear brand Vans present a full length video, entitled ‘Propeller’, which is scheduled for release in May of this year.

Having played one of the most pivotal roles in shaping skateboardings history, its hard to believe that this is the first time in which Vans are releasing an edit.  The name “Propeller” works off the notion that every major edit release moves skateboarding forward, taking the baton from the predecessors and building upon their legacy to drive the cultures progression. The highly anticipated video is sure to be the talk of the skateboarding world this year, linking up with critically acclaimed skateboard filmmaker Greg Hunt, Propeller features the entire line-up of Vans pro-riders, from some of the hottest names in skateboarding today as well as legends that include the likes of Ray Barbee, Tony Alva and Christian Hosoi all of whice, like Vans, have played key roles in pioneering the culture.

Although we don’t want to say too much too soon, we are hugely excited to see the full video and with so many big names involved we are sure this is going to be one that people talk about for a very long time. For now you can enjoy the trailer below, but be sure to keep an eye out for more news on the release of “Propeller” which is due in May 2015.

Bronze56k present ***Trust*** Full-Length video

Bronze56K present their latest visual (and musical) treat, as Peter Sidlauskas presents his latest full length video entitled “Trust” for 2K15.

Following a year long hiatus, the latest video in Bronza56k’s series seemingly came out of  thin air with little to no promotion around it. Widely considered as the pioneers of the ‘Lo-Fi’ skate videos that have become hugely popular with some of the top skate brands worldwide, their latest video “Trust” offers up slightly more in terms of editing and production continuing to draw themes from the pre-modern internet era. The visuals also sees the addition of a few notable faces to their line-up, with the 28 minute skate video featuring riders Shawn Powers, Aaron Herrington, Brendan Carroll, Josh Wilson, Jordan Trahan, Jake Johnson, Dela, Billy McFeely, Rob Gonyon, Joseph Delgado, Mark Humienik, Nick Ferro, Adrian Vega, Chachi (skating in a pair of foamposites), Kevin Tierney, Dick Rizzo and more, shredding key spots on the East Coast.

Enjoy the video below and be sure to head over to bronze.bigcartel.com to buy the DVD and support the cause.

Lost ART x Nike SB present “The Old and the New of Liverpool City” Pack

Liverpool’s Lost ART make their love for their home city known as they link up with Nike SB to explore “The Old and the New of Liverpool City”, with two collaborative styles of the Bruin and the BA silhouettes.

The shoe collaboration sees the two camps solidify their already strong relationship, with the independent store one of the first UK stockist for SB and remaining a key door for the brand till this day.

Lost ART draw inspiration from the cities iconic ‘Docklands’ and derelict LOR (Liverpool Overhead Railway) system, both of which have played a huge part in shaping Liverpool’s history, while also paying homage to cultural diversity and rich heritage of the area.

With the classic Bruin representing the ‘Old’ of the city, references come from the colour and materials applications of the LOR guards uniforms. Constructed from a rich pigskin suede, the shoes upper arrives in all-over black with hits of red and yellow on the mismatched swoosh branding. There is additional wool panelling on the heel counter, a contrasting white sole unit and tongue, with exclusive artwork on the insole to celebrate the release. The ‘New’ SB BA gets more of a modern rework with vibrant red on the heel and teal on the mid-foot meeting with a grey toe box, as a representation of the landscape that surrounds the infamous Docks. The BA silhouette sits on top of a clean white midsole and gum outsole.

Lost Art Skate Shop x Nike SB “The Old and the New of Liverpool City” pack will be dropping exclusively at lostartshop.co.uk on March 14th followed by a global release on March 21st.
