adidas Skateboarding have unveiled a new variation of the popular Matchcourt Mid, combining with global rider Marc Johnson on the design. Announcing the release with a comical sitcom style commercial dubbed "On Your Marc", which follows Marc and his shoe's unbreakable bond, it's the first shoe from Marc since his controversial move from Lakai to adidas.
Fusing style and functionality, the latest update to the classic Matchcourt maintains its performance features such as the moulded PU sockliner for comfort and cushioning upon impact. Aesthetically, it's one of our favourite reworks of the shoe to date, which has been draped in a premium pig nubuck suede in Pantone 542 - the same blue used by the University of North Carolina, giving a nod to MJ's native state. Additional details include contrasting white leather three stripe branding, rubberised toe cap and lacing, rounded off with a subtle gold foil MJ branding on the side panels.
The adidas Skateboards Matchcourt Mid UNC x Marc Johnson is available now online and at select retailers including Attitude
This short documentary shot in conjunction with Footpatrol and adidas delves deeper in to the world of La MJC and Club 75 co-founder Michael Dupouy as he prepares to launch the 10th edition of his All Gone book series. The video follows Dupouy through the streets of Pari’s 10th Arrondissement, where his store is based as he talks on his history in journalism, his roots in streetwear and what it’s been like to build the All Gone series in to what it is today. It’s a great insight in to one of the most influential streetwear heads of modern day, and also what it takes to make a great print publication in an era where we are exposed to so much information at the click of a button.

Continuing their fruitful partnership in to the winter, Palace and adidas build off their 90’s inspired collaborative collections for one of their strongest releases to date this season.
The Winter 2015 collection once again looks to classic silhouettes from the german sportswear brand, reworked with a bit of creative influence from London’s premier skate brand. As we move into the colder weather, the latest collaborative release takes a heavy focus on outerwear, with the reversible heavyweight down jacket and the marble print bomber jacket the two stand out pieces. Aligning with the nostalgic sportswear theme, the collection also features football inspired jerseys, dual-branded tracksuits tops and joggers, and bulked out with casual hoodies, quarter zip pullovers, polo tees and long sleeves. A varied selection of accessories including winterised headwear, bags and gloves round off the release, which is designed to keep you cozy and warm throughout the harsher months.
It’s a nostalgic release for those, like myself, who donned the classic adidas trackies back in the 90’s. Utilising colour blocking and wavy print techniques in places with a monochromatic colour palette throughout, it’s the perfect mixture of bold and understated, and theres no questioning why this, like all the other releases, will causes so much hype.
Enjoy the lookbook above, once again featuring team rider Blondey Mccoy donning the clothing. The Palace Skateboards x adidas Winter 2015 collection will be available at www.palaceskateboards.comand at selected stores from the 24th of October.
Palace Skateboards and adidas take their fruitful relationship a step further as they follow up their 90’s inspired apparel collaboration by moving into the footwear market, delivering four solid skate-able pro shoes for the summer months.
Following a series of teaser images and a hypnotising appearance from D Double E on social media over the last week or so, building the hype for the collaboration, we can now take a closer look at the styles that are set to drop tomorrow the 16th of May. The collection is made up of the collaboratively designed Pro Primeknit and the Pro Trainer, with two colour options in each silhouette.
The Palace Pro Primeknit debuts with adidas’ Primeknit technology applied to the upper, available in a white/grey option with tonal lacing and a stark white sole unit, as well as the retro inspired black/white colour option, reminiscent of the gum soled adidas skate copa and also features tonal lacing and the popular gum rubber sole. The Pro Suede Shoe draws from adidas’ popular Gazelle silhouette, perhaps slightly more skate friendly, it arrives in a grey/white and a black/white colour option, constructed from a perforated suede on the shoes upper, with the grey/white sitting on top of an icy translucent sole and the black, a white contrasting sole unit that matches the white lacing and stripe branding. Both the Pro Primeknit and the Pro Suede feature the ZX flux heel cage that offers additional stability to the wearer and heel pull, keeping the branding minimal throughout with the classic three stripe featuring on the side panels.
The Palace Skateboards x adidas Pro Shoe collection will be available from Palace’s web store HERE and selected retailers including Flatspotand Welcome from Midnight tonight (00:01 BST 16th of May).
