Etonic Trans AM Suede

With a rich history that spans over a hundred years, including a major rebrand back in 1976, Etonic surface once again and they do so with a bang as they present the Trans AM suede editions.

Delving into their archives, Etonic pull the original performance runner straight from the 80’s with its original performance features of cushioning, anti-roll and stability still intact. Having been relaunched in the 90’s the shoe gained more of a lifestyle status as its athletic design proved popular with the sneaker community. Back to 2014 and the shoe’s original mesh and synthetic’s combination on the upper has been reworked into a premium tonal suede. The shoes dual-density coloured midsole and white embroidered branding at the heel and side panels is reminiscent of the time of the shoe’s first release.

The relaunch of Akeem the Dream silhouette back in July caused huge excitement within the sneaker community and this low profile silhouette is sure to make some noise of its own, arriving in a selection of rich colour ways including black, navy, forest green and wolf grey, amongst others.

The Etonic Trans AM suede is available now at Crooked Tongues and Size?

PUMA Winter 2014 – States ‘Gum’ Pack

Following the silhouette’s long-anticipated re-introduction at the beginning of the year, the low-profile PUMA States receives its latest rework for Winter 2014, in the ‘Gum’ Pack.

PUMA’s resurgence of late has been fronted by it’s innovative Trinomic technoogy, but the States (or ‘Clyde’ or ‘Suede’ as its also known) is one of the brands most notable re-issues of the year. A timeless classic, the shoes rich history in New York subcultures including hip-hop and the cities unique skate scene, earned it it’s name ‘States’ once the culture had been embraced over in the UK.

The latest iteration of the States sees the shoe’s premium suede upper given three winterised colour treatments – black, red and olive, sitting on top of a gum outsole. Additional features include a plush rich leather interior lining, as well as thin tonal lace and fat tonal lace options for customisation. The Olive colour option is our pick of the pack, in one of the nicest uses of the colour we’ve seen, complimented by the gum sole, you find an easy to wear, staple shoe.

Nike present The Holiday Sneakerboot Collection 2014

Nike take cues from humans ability to adapt to change in their latest release for Autumn/Winter 2014, as they introduce new adaptations of classic styles in the ‘Sneakerboot’ Collection.

With the weather deteriorating and the UK population reaching for their winter wardrobe, the time is right to be considering footwear options and Nike have seemingly  come up with a solution. Traditionally I prefer a slightly slimmer shape when it comes to footwear, so I’m not 100% sure if these are for me, but I do admire Nikes commitment towards innovation and forward thinking performance design.

Reworking iconic running and basketball silhouettes into ‘weatherised powerhouses’, the Sneakerboots design provides a trio of benefits – warmth, visibility and dryness. The shoes original outsoles remain to ensure the same levels of comfort are achieved, whilst internal linings give your feet that extra layer to fight the cold. Additional features include water resistant properties with each pair constructed from a mixture of premium materials.

The pick of the pack has to be the Air Max 90 Sneakerboot, which maintains its iconic shape with added features in the highly visible, highly durable upper, the classic Air bubble for extra cushioning and waffle patterned rubber outsole for extra traction. The release also includes Sneakerboot renditions of the Lunar Force 1, Air Max 1, Roshe Run Hi, Lunar Fresh, LunarElite Sky Hi, Air Trainer SC and the Dunk Sky Hi, arriving in Autumnal colour treatments. We will let you make up your mind on these, but one things for sure… if you’re looking for a warm, dry and comfortable shoe for the winter months, the Sneakerboots are for you.

The Holiday ’14 Nike Sneakerboots will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers and online at nike.com from October 15th.

Onitsuka Tiger X Asics X Hanon – Glover Pack

Japanese sister brands Onitsuka Tiger and Asics link up with Scotland’s number one footwear destination Hanon, to unveil an exclusive collaboration in the Glover Pack.

Following the brands recent collaborative venture with UK franchise Offspring, they now turn their attention to Hanon and us their home town of Aberdeen as inspiration for their latest collection. Paying homage to Aberdeenshire’s very own Samurai, legendary explorer and national hero – Thomas Blake Glover, the trio come together to present two new designs in Asics Gel-Epirus and Onitsuka Tiger’s Colorado Eighty-Five.

The Asics Gel-Epirus takes cues from Glover’s scottish roots and the thistle, Scotland’s national emblem. Arriving in a mint green suede and purple nubuck leather mix for the upper, the shoe features patriotic detailing with the red quilted collar lining and tartan in-sock, as well as the thistle emblem on the heel.

The Colorado Eighty-Five from Onitsuka Tiger takes inspiration from Glover’s adopted home of Japan, again making use of suede and nubuck on the upper with a perforated toe box and synthetic overlays. The shoe comes in a black and yellow colour way, with speckled detailing around the lace stay. Additional features include an embossed moustache logo on the heel and tea inspired insoles.

The limited edition Onitsuka Tiger X Asics X Hanon Glover Pack is available exclusively in-store and online at Hanon from Saturday the 27th of September.
