Gosha x Vans 1

Gosha Rubchinskiy x Vans Authentic

Having already worked his creative magic on the iconic Sk8-Hi, Slip-On and Old Skool silhouettes, Gosha Rubchinskiy now turns his attention to perhaps the most staple silhouette of the Vans archive - the Authentic.

Through previous work, it's clear that skateboarding has played a huge role in developing Gosha Rubchinskiy as an artist and provides a lot of inspiration for his work, eventually leading him to release 'YOUTH HOTEL', a photography book that focused on skateboarding and various other facets of youth culture in Russia . The Authentic has its name etched in to the skateboarding history books as one of the first shoes adopted by skaters in California back in the early 70's. The young Russian artist has reworked the simplistic Authentic with four new colour schemes of black, white, sky blue and tea rose, all of which feature black lacing and a contrasting black sole unit with white piping. Each style is completed with Gosha Rubchinskiy's Cyrillic text logo emblazoned across the heel.

The Gosha Rubchinskiy x Vans Authentic were available at Dover Street Market towards the end of last week but sold through extremely quickly. Luckily you will have a second chance to pick up a pair with Goodhood as they go on sale in-store and online at 11am on Friday the 22nd of January.

HUF present the Soto

HUF announce the 'Soto' as the latest addition to it's ever expanding and ever improving footwear line, combining a heritage footwear aesthetic with modern innovative design.

The Soto shares similarities with the brands 'Choice' and 'Galaxy' silhouettes, most notably in the prominent "H" branding on the side panels, but differences appear in other areas of the stripped back upper which features a durable one-piece vamp wrapped around the toe for protection and improved flick. Much of the innovation in the Soto's design lies in the cup sole, made from the brands specially formulated 'Infinity Rubber', which is more durable, increases flexibility and provides added traction for optimal board feel. The molded insole and herringbone tread pattern on the hardwearing outsole complete the high-performance technology in one of the brands most accomplished skate shoes to date.

To celebrate the release of the HUF Soto, HUF have selected 18 stores throughout the US to submit videos of them skating the shoe to a Soto microsite to participate in a 'Weartest' Contest. You can check out the entry's HERE. The HUF Soto will be landing at all good skate stores this February.

Nike GTS

Nike SB Zoom GTS

Having been the subject of the hugely popular Nike SB x Supreme collaboration back in July last year, Nike's classic GTS tennis silhouette returns as part of a main line release.

The early 90's tennis shoe was reworked in to five stand out colour ways, all with original features in tact for the Supreme collab, which celebrated the shoes popularity amongst the skaters of the era. As you can expect with any Supreme drop, the collab was met with a great response and pulled the modest silhouette back in to the limelight of both skateboarders and sneaker lovers across the globe.

Looking to capitalise on the new found popularity of the GTS, Nike have released the shoe in a simplistic black/white colour option, featuring a durable canvas upper with hardwearing suede overlays on the toe and heel. Tonal lacing and a small embroidered swoosh logo on the side panels complete the simplistic look of the shoe, all of which sits on top of a contrasting white rubber outsole which features Nike's signature Zoom cushioning.

You can pick up the Nike SB Zoom GTS over at Flatspot. now.

LCS-FP-R800-Artisan-9

Footpatrol x Le Coq Sportif Made in France R800 ‘Artisan’

Hot on the heels of the "Only In Tokyo" collab with BEAMS and Saucony last month, London's Footpatrol round off the year with another solid footwear release, this time teaming up with Le Coq Sportif on the R800 'Artisan'.

Teaming up with the French sportswear label for the third time, Footpatrol look to the brands newly introduced 'Made In France' line in which LCS celebrate their rich heritage and commitment to their unique manufacturing process of their most iconic running styles. Pulling the form fitting R800 silhouette from the archive, Footpatrol pay homage to the skilled craftsmen/craftswomen across Western Europe who are dedicated to their trade, and who in this case, continue to devote their skills to producing high quality footwear by hand in France.

For the aptly named 'Artisan' release, the R800 has been dressed in a perforated dress blue leather on the upper, accented with a smooth nubuck on the heel and medial panels. The blue is contrasted with tan leather detailing on the shoes lining and laser-engraved dual-branded tongue detailing. The premium upper sits on top of an off white sole unit and complimenting gum outsole. Every pair arrives with three sets of laces for customisation, including a dress blue flat lace, multi-coloured flat lace and a full grain tan leather lace, and arrives in a custom wooden shoe box which includes a set of wooden shoe trees, leather shoe cream, buffing cloth and shoe brush.

The Footpatrol x Le Coq Sportif Made in France R800 'Artisan' is set to drop this Friday the 18th December exclusively at Footpatrol.

Nike SB x Poler All Court CK

Nike SB and Poler come together for another collaborative release this season, this time turning their attention to the All Court CK silhouette.

As part of a larger collection, the All Court rework is the stand out piece for us from this years collaboration, in which we also see a winterised upgrade of the Dunk High and several weather appropriate apparel pieces. The low profile All Court CK receives a similar colour treatment seen on the Nike SB and Poler's Hi-top Blazer rework from last year, with an ivory soft suede gracing the upper, accented with hits of burnt orange throughout. The hardwearing suede has been applied on the entirety of the upper including the swoosh branding, all the way through to the tonal rubber toe cap. Additional features include tonal lacing, orange leather sock liner and an embossed Poler logo on the heel.

The Nike SB x Poler All Court CK is available now at select stores in the UK including Flatspot.

Saucony Shadow 6000 Irish Coffee Pack

Saucony Shadow 6000 ‘Irish Coffee’ Pack

Saucony rework the classic Shadow 6000 silhouette in to three new colour ways inspired by Irish Coffee.

The collection pays homage to a man named Joe Sheridan, who in 1943 introduced the now hugely popular drink of Irish Coffee to a room full of abandoned travellers. Drawing inspiration from the key components needed to create the tipple, the classic 90’s runner arrives in three rich colour ways of black, light brown and a tonal off white, representing the coffee, Irish whisky and cream respectively. Each shoe has been constructed from a buttery Wolverine suede on the upper, all sitting on top of a white EVA midsole and lugged gum outsole for extra traction in the slippery conditions.

I’m always up for a new pack release from Saucony, especially when it comes with an interesting concept behind it. With a lot of brands however, I do sometimes find that the more interesting the concept the more complicate the design, to a point where the shoe is barely wearable. The Irish Coffee pack not only has a good story behind it but is also well executed from the colour to the materials. Each minimal colour way is as wearable as the next, complimenting the sleek shape of the ever popular Shadow 6000.

You can expect the Saucony Shadow 6000 ‘Irish Coffee’ pack to be arriving the week commencing 7th of December at select UK retailers.
