Brain Dead launch Record Label

 Last week, creative collective Brain Dead announced the launch of its new record label, as brand owners Kyle NG and Ed Davis look to develop the brand further than it's more widely known clothing line and invest more in to the culture that surrounds it.

Although their impactful clothing line has been leading the hype amongst the brands cult following, Brain Dead has always been way more than just that, working on projects such as art exhibitions, special edition zines, home goods and toys, while their is also talk of comic books and films coming up next. Their latest venture sees the collective introduce it's own record label and with it a concise capsule collection, teaming up with their newest musical recruits including Gaslamp Killer, Michael Kopelman, Pubesky, Gaul Plus and Khun Narin to curate mixes which are presented in tape form and are also available to listen to online. The tapes are accompanied by a small range of apparel including graphic tees, branded hats and pins to promote the launch of the new project.

 Hypebeast recently sat down with the brands founders Kyle and Ed to find out a bit more on their latest venture. You can read the full interview HERE.

 You can also stay up to date with the latest from Brain Dead Records over on their soundcloud and shop the collection over on their website and at Goodhood now.

KR3W Rights Refused: Charles Peterson

 KR3W have linked up with revered music photographer Charles Peterson to celebrate his role in immortalising the birth of grunge in this concise capsule collection.

The Rights Refused programme hand picks artists, musician’s and craftsman who have gone against the grain, choosing to do things their own way and because of that have made an impact through their art. This season, Kr3W look to Charles Peterson, whose raw images give an honest and gritty documentation of the grunge movement that inspired a generation. It’s a sincere tale of the rebellious spirit of grunge’s leaders and followers captured through the lens of Peterson.

Following the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s untimely death, Charles Peterson opens up his archives and applies four of his most iconic images onto tees, long sleeves, vest tops and cut and sew shirts, each of which tell their own story of a moment that changed music history forever.

The Charles Peterson x KR3W collaboration is available now at www.parlourskatestore.co.uk

The Hundreds x Death Row Records Capsule Collection

The Hundreds have announced an exciting new capsule collection with legendary West-Coast hip-hop record label Death Row.

Accountable for kick-starting the careers of some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including the likes Snoop Dogg, Tupac and Dr.Dre to name but a few, Death Row’s legacy lives on today. Following a spate of 90′s releases of late, The Hundreds top it off with this great capsule paying homage to one of the most exciting movements of the era.

The limited release celebrates The Hundreds love for the pioneering label, consisting of long and short sleeved tees, hooded sweaters and coach jackets, featuring heavy graphic prints that bear the iconic logos of both brands.

Bobby Hundreds shared his excitement on the capsule;

“The Hundreds X Death Row is honestly like a dream for me. I grew up listening to ‘The Chronic,’ ‘Doggystyle,’ and ‘All Eyez on Me,’ so when the opportunity presented itself, there was no way we weren’t doing this project. Though simple, this collaboration is an obvious homage to what defined my youth, and the music that inspired me to pursure street culture. What you’re getting is an unfiltered look at true O.G.s who shaped West Coast culture as we know it, teamed with a brand dedicated to telling that story.”

The Hundreds x Death Row Capsule Collection will be exclusively available at the following stores shortly;
