Très Bien x Polar Skate Co. Capsule Collection

Polar Skate Co. are on a roll with collaborative projects of late. With a slew of popular projects behind them, last month saw the Swedish skate brand link up with Converse once again, this time to flip the Jack Purcell Tennis silhouette in to an instant skate ready classic. Polar now link up with fellow Malmö natives Très Bien on a considered collaborative release that seamlessly blends fashion and skate wear.

Both brands have played a key role in the new wave of Scandinavian fashion, not just locally but on a global scene, the collaboration brings two different worlds but two similar styles together in what comes across as a very organic and authentic release. Combining elements of Polar's unique artwork and imagery with Très Bien clinical cuts, the collection draws inspiration from 70's styling and looks to Polar riders Paul Grund and Roman Gonzales to inform certain silhouettes such as the striped tees, track-pants and jackets, while fellow rider Dane Brady adds his artistic approach to a selection of graphics used throughout.

Take a closer look at the collection in the lookbook above. The Très Bien x Polar Skate Co. Capsule Collection is available now at select retailers including Flatspot., Goodhood and END.

Converse CONS x Polar Skate Co – “LA Days”

Following on from their popular 2014 release, Converse CONS and Polar Skate Co. have combined once again on a comprehensive collection that celebrates the Jack Purcell silhouette.

The release consists of three updates of the classic Jack Purcell, arriving in emerald green, black and navy colour options, each constructed from a hardwearing suede upper and featuring the shoes signature two-piece rubber toe cap. Finishing details in the stark white sole unit, tonal lacing, tonal leather stitching and lining, metal eyelets, and finally Polar's happy/sad smiley face logos emblazoned on the heel stamp complete the considered styles. The collaborative collection is rounded off with complementing tees, hoodies and shorts, all featuring co-branded logo detailing.

To celebrate the release, the Polar team: Jonas Skröder, Dane Brady, Pontus Alv, Paul Grund, Roman Gonzalez, David Stenstrom and Jerome Campbell, went out into the streets of LA to test out the shoes while navigating the city. You can check the full clip below and shop the collection at all good skate stores now including Note, Flatspot. and Slam City, as well as converse.com

Polar Skate Co. x Carhartt WIP Editorial

Polar Skate Co.’s unique designs meet Carhartt WIP’s style focused outerwear as the two brands link up this Autumn for a limited collaborative collection.

Carhartt WIP have been the focus of many collaborations over the past few years with the likes of A.P.C and Vans in their portfolio. This year has seen Polar Skate Co. chiming in with a huge collab of their own with the release of their reworked Converse Cons CTAS Pro. This season the brands styles combine effortlessly as they present a robust yet wearable offering, built with quality in mind and a high attention to detail.

The outcome is a strong selection of skate ready goods as Polar revisit a selection of classic Carhartt shapes. The collection includes graphic print t-shirts featuring modernist illustrations, inspired by Greek antiquity, as well as cut and sew pieces in the long sleeve shirts and quilted lined vests. There is a beanie and team decks, as well as a nice touch in a dual branded pen featuring the ‘big head’ logo.  Each item is constructed from premium fabrics including suede, denim and cotton, with additional detailing in the suede labelling.

It was great for us personally when we heard news on the collaboration, holding Polar and Carhartt WIP as two of our favourite brands here at By The Level. Polar embodies what contemporary skateboarding is all about and this is translated through their original designs and the media they put out. Its refreshing to see an independent brand try new things and offer clothing and hardware designs that give something different, not just bowing to current trends. Their latest collaboration sees the brand continue to develop, and with Carhartt WIP’s trustworthy and highly functional outerwear meets street wear garments at their disposal, the concise collection is a well rounded success.

The Polar Skate Co. X Carhartt WIP Collection is available now at selected retailers in the UK, at carhartt-wip.com and polarskateco.com. Also be sure to check out the awesome STOKER issue 1 HERE.
