The original skate shoe brand – Vans unveil their latest pro skate shoe in the Crockett Pro Mid.
Gilbert Crockett’s pro model has been the subject of several great reviews since it’s initial release, a shoe that is packed full of breakthrough innovations in skate footwear design. These same pro features have been translated into the mid version, giving the wearer unrivaled grip with the Wafflecup bottom unit and ultracush sole for high level impact cushioning.
Arriving in all black and pewter/white colour ways, the shoes upper is constructed from a premium suede and canvas mix on the upper, with a duracap fused rubber reinforced toe cap for durability. The addition of the added padding around the ankle provides protection and support for the wearer.
There have been many attempts over the years to produce a decent mid silhouette and many have left a lot to be desired. This model however has seemingly struck the right chord, it reminds me of a kind of slimline half cab with a side stripe.
