Hippie Sex Summer 2016 Lookbook

 Newly introduced Ohio based lifestyle brand Hippie Sex have dropped their latest set of visuals showcasing a new range of limited product for the Summer season. Drawing inspiration from counter culture, the unisex brand focus their designs around vintage inspired, simplistic pieces, and this continues in to their latest release. The small collection is heavily graphic based, with vintage washes and retro type's printed on to tees and embroidered on to deconstructed 6-panels. The political statement graphics and comical reworks of old cartoon characters, which are applied as bold designs throughout, give off an anarchic theme. Hopefully will be seeing more from these guys in the UK in the near future, they are definitely one of the more exciting brands to emerge out of the US in recent times who are really offering up something unique with their playful approach.

 Grind London build on their "Capital" SS16 release with a new instalment of graphic tees for the Summer, captured in this simplistic lookbook from Sayda Alexander. Heavily graphic lead, the concise release aligns with Grind's signature tongue-in-cheek designs with humorous slogans mixed with classic imagery of icons including Elvis and Prince Charles. The collection is rounded off with a clean white, Egyptian-cotton short sleeve shirt with subtle Grind London text logo on the front and 'woe is not me' photo print on the back.

HUF Summer 2016 Collection

HUF have released their latest set of visuals, highlighting key styles from the brands Summer 2016 collection.

 Looking ahead to this Summers Olympic Games held in Rio, Brazil, the collection draws inspiration from athletic and sportswear themes, applying bold patterns and seasonal colours, reminiscent of those found on the football shirts of the home nation, throughout the release. Alongside the more athletic pieces we see the classic tongue-in-cheek graphics HUF have become renowned for applied to tees and long-sleeves, a considered headwear selection featuring classic logo designs, and also more in the way of cut & sew with several short-sleeve shirt styles and an expanded pant line.

 In all its much the same from the San Fran giants, who have achieved their renowned aesthetic through consistency season after season. We do however see new drop needle technics applied to some pieces offering both breathability and a premium construction, while vintage athletic-inspired labelling adds a nice finish to the collection.

 You can pick up the latest from HUF at select UK stockist now, including Flatspot, 5Pointz & Urban Industry

Welcome Skateboards x adidas Skateboarding

adidas Skateboarding continue to tap some of the best names in skateboarding for their collaborative ventures. Having linked up with Alltimers for a special release last season, they follow up with a second capsule collection with Cali's Welcome Skateboards.

 The latest release sticks to similar themes from last years collection, again featuring a custom 'soccer' jersey, which this time around arrives in a simplistic white and black colour option, donning Welcome's signature graphics on the badge, sponsorship and back print. The Matchcourt Mid becomes the latest adi silhouette to get the Welcome treatment, arriving in a 'Seafoam Blue' colour way, the shoe features a durable premium suede on the upper which has been reinforced with a tonal rubber toe cap. The Mid shape offers slightly more protection around the ankle and the molded sock-liner locks the foot in place to avoid slippage. The design is rounded off with black accents on the three stripe's, lacing and branding on the tongue and heel, all of which sits on top of a crisp white sole unit and semi-translucent gum outsole.

Welcome founder Jason Celaya had this to say on the partnership;

"I am a proponent of the evolution of both my personal life and my company, however, there are a few things in my life that are constants. Along with skateboarding and art, one of those constants has been adidas. Probably ever since the mid ’80s I have worn Adidas as my skate shoes and my date shoes."

The Welcome Skateboards x adidas Skateboarding capsule collection is set to drop online and select retailers from the beginning of May. Be sure to keep your eyes on social pages for updates on the drop!
