Consisting of brands such as Nike, Asics, Adidas, Puma and Reebok, the shoes were shot against the chalky, snow-like backdrop of Birling Gap to give it a seasonal feel.  We aimed to highlight each style’s functional features and test them against the elements, from PUMA’s Gore-Tex water proof lining to the Nike Air Max 1 Duckboot’s heavy duty outsole.

Rebel8 Winter 2014 Lookbook

Rebel8 continue to apply their rebellious styles to a range of street ready pieces as they present their Winter collection for 2014.

The Californian brand takes a focus on layering for the colder seasons, with an array of bold graphic tees, sweaters and hoodies featuring the animated styles from the brands founders – Joshy D and Mike Giant. The street ready staples are complimented by a solid selection of cut and sew pieces from button-up shackets with patch detailing to a matching patterned shirt and trouser combo. It’s clear that Rebel8 have put a lot of energy into their outerwear selection for the season, made up of perfectly executed puffer jackets and lined parka styles, that take a minimal approach to branding and instead let their construction do the talking.

The Rebel8 Winter 2014 collection will be available at UK stores including Urban Industry from the 1st of December.

The release compliments their mainline collection well as they continue to revisit nostalgic themes, especially in the aztec pattern pinch panel, giving off a kind of a toned down fresh prince vibe.

CLSC Winter 2014 Lookbook

LA based CLSC continue to develop their ever expanding collection as they present a new batch of goods ready for Winter 2014.

Once again enlisting the services of photographer Evy Optics, CLSC head to the picturesque Sequoia National Forest to showcase the range against the natural backdrop. As with previous releases they continue to incorporate athletic themes mixed in with street ready styles, using bold graphics and premium cuts. Wardrobe staples including long and short sleeved graphic tees, hoodies and sweaters sit alongside the brands first ever cut and sew range that features baseball jerseys, french terry bottoms and the stand out satin coach jacket (seen above).

It’s great to see CLSC making waves here in the UK and getting the recognition it deserves. The Hundreds Winter 2014 Collection

The Hundreds head to Anchorage, Alaska with photographer Jovell Rennie to showcase their latest offering for Winter 2014 in this impressive look book set in the great outdoors.

Looking back at the brands history in flying the flag for independent counter culture, this seasons offerings channel riots, rebellion and unrest as it’s main inspirations. Stepping away from their usual vibrant tones, the subdued colour palette gives a more mature approach in a line that embodies ‘mobility, progression and protection’ across a range of staple winter items.

Comprising of mostly robust outerwear pieces, the collection includes pullover sweaters, flannel button-down shirts, quilted body warmers, two-tone jackets and cargo pants. Keeping logos and graphics to a minimum, the use of camo print throughout to the collection is a nod to the brands appreciation towards militant subcultures.

Bobby Hundreds had this to say on the release:

One of the clearest ways of defining who you are is by fighting against what you are not. The Hundreds was established as a response – to convention, to rules, and industry paradigms.  As a couple of kids who built something out of nothing, we’ve proudly bore the flag of the independents and the counterculture.  We’ve sought revolution – a new philosophy for how clothing should be understood, brands experienced, and companies built.  The Hundreds Winter 2014 is inspired by this history.  The season considers the uniform of radical thinkers and progressive activists. It acknowledges the fashion aesthetic of social change from punk to politics to protests. You know what you stand for. This is what you’ll stand in.”

Enjoy the lookbook below shot against a stunning Alaskan backdrop by Jovell Rennie. The Hundreds Winter 2014 collection will be available in UK stores soon so be sure to check back for links. For more information visit thehundreds.com

Nike present The Holiday Sneakerboot Collection 2014

Nike take cues from humans ability to adapt to change in their latest release for Autumn/Winter 2014, as they introduce new adaptations of classic styles in the ‘Sneakerboot’ Collection.

With the weather deteriorating and the UK population reaching for their winter wardrobe, the time is right to be considering footwear options and Nike have seemingly  come up with a solution. Traditionally I prefer a slightly slimmer shape when it comes to footwear, so I’m not 100% sure if these are for me, but I do admire Nikes commitment towards innovation and forward thinking performance design.

Reworking iconic running and basketball silhouettes into ‘weatherised powerhouses’, the Sneakerboots design provides a trio of benefits – warmth, visibility and dryness. The shoes original outsoles remain to ensure the same levels of comfort are achieved, whilst internal linings give your feet that extra layer to fight the cold. Additional features include water resistant properties with each pair constructed from a mixture of premium materials.

The pick of the pack has to be the Air Max 90 Sneakerboot, which maintains its iconic shape with added features in the highly visible, highly durable upper, the classic Air bubble for extra cushioning and waffle patterned rubber outsole for extra traction. The release also includes Sneakerboot renditions of the Lunar Force 1, Air Max 1, Roshe Run Hi, Lunar Fresh, LunarElite Sky Hi, Air Trainer SC and the Dunk Sky Hi, arriving in Autumnal colour treatments. We will let you make up your mind on these, but one things for sure… if you’re looking for a warm, dry and comfortable shoe for the winter months, the Sneakerboots are for you.

The Holiday ’14 Nike Sneakerboots will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers and online at nike.com from October 15th.

Turbokolor Fall/Winter 2014 – Delivery 1

Pawel Swanski’s Turbokolor present their first delivery for Fall/Winter 2014 with a clever accompanying lookbook capturing Warsaw based craftsman in their area of work entitled ‘Men With Dirty Hands’

The Polish brand have certainly put in some work of their own on a technical yet well rounded release inspired by classic workwear and military styles. Calling on Swanksi’s rich history in design, customised Paisley and Camo prints are applied to staple pieces in all over prints as well as subtle details.

Taking into consideration the diminishing weather in the Eastern part of Europe during fall, the collection is largely outerwear focused with key pieces including the woollen varsity jacket and the insulated Ewald Jacket.

Turbokolor’s first delivery from their Fall/Winter collection is available now at turbokolor.com
