ONLY NY AW14 Editorial

Only_Slider_01

It’s been a while since we last linked up with our friends at Street Casuals and we couldn’t be happier to join forces again to showcase product from the awesome ONLY NY Fall/Winter 2014 drop.

We really enjoyed ONLY NY’s approach to their official lookbook, showcasing the brand in real scenarios, with a selection of natural photographs showing how the clothing would be seen at street level. With this lookbook our aim was to continue this ‘real’ look, translating it into our own environment around the streets of Brighton.

The collection itself continues the brands nostalgic approach, drawing themes from 90′s New York and applying this to vintage sportswear inspired pieces. Comprising of button-down shirts, crew-neck sweaters, rugby tops, outerwear pieces, headwear and a great selection bold graphic tees, the collection is diverse as is its colour palette.

The latest release is everything we have come to expect from the New York brand and more, and its great to see ONLY continue to develop their range. In an industry thats saturated with regurgitated graphics, ONLY always step up and bring something new. Their unique New York inspired designs and how they apply them to their premium streetwear pieces is what really sets them apart and why they continue to be one of our favourite brands here at By The Level.

Enjoy the look book and be sure to head over to www.streetcasuals.com now to shop the range.

Polar Skate Co. x Carhartt WIP Editorial

BTL_Lookbook_07

Polar Skate Co.’s unique designs meet Carhartt WIP’s style focused outerwear as the two brands link up this Autumn for a limited collaborative collection.

Carhartt WIP have been the focus of many collaborations over the past few years with the likes of A.P.C and Vans in their portfolio. This year has seen Polar Skate Co. chiming in with a huge collab of their own with the release of their reworked Converse Cons CTAS Pro. This season the brands styles combine effortlessly as they present a robust yet wearable offering, built with quality in mind and a high attention to detail.

The outcome is a strong selection of skate ready goods as Polar revisit a selection of classic Carhartt shapes. The collection includes graphic print t-shirts featuring modernist illustrations, inspired by Greek antiquity, as well as cut and sew pieces in the long sleeve shirts and quilted lined vests. There is a beanie and team decks, as well as a nice touch in a dual branded pen featuring the ‘big head’ logo.  Each item is constructed from premium fabrics including suede, denim and cotton, with additional detailing in the suede labelling.

It was great for us personally when we heard news on the collaboration, holding Polar and Carhartt WIP as two of our favourite brands here at By The Level. Polar embodies what contemporary skateboarding is all about and this is translated through their original designs and the media they put out. Its refreshing to see an independent brand try new things and offer clothing and hardware designs that give something different, not just bowing to current trends. Their latest collaboration sees the brand continue to develop, and with Carhartt WIP’s trustworthy and highly functional outerwear meets street wear garments at their disposal, the concise collection is a well rounded success.

The Polar Skate Co. X Carhartt WIP Collection is available now at selected retailers in the UK, at carhartt-wip.com and polarskateco.com. Also be sure to check out the awesome STOKER issue 1 HERE.

Route One Lookbook

Route_One_02

From humble beginnings back in 1989, Route One has grown to become the go to place for everything skate and streetwear, from shoes to decks. With a portfolio of over 450 brands, including their own in-house label, the company is continuing to expand into an leading international retailer.

We recently linked up with the guys at Route One to produce our own editorial lookbook, featuring a mixture of their own brand goods as well as pieces from some of the key names they hold. The aim of the shoot was to focus on the companies heritage in skate and action sports, using product from the likes of Emerica, Pass Port, KR3W and Thrasher, and combining this with the fashion basics Route One has to offer.

We were back in our hometown of Brighton for this one, skating around the city with our pal Dexter. Check out the full lookbook below and be sure to shop the latest collections over at www.routeone.co.uk now.

Drawing inspiration from American hip-hop and sports cultures, the concise collection takes the direction of quality over quantity. With a focus on materials and simple design, each cut and sew item brings something different to the collection whilst still remaining within its theme.

London’s Kentish Town provided the backdrop for the shoot as we met up with our friend Lewis who modelled the latest offering.
