Stussy x Patta AW15 Collection

Streetwear institution Stussy comes together with Amsterdam mainstay Patta this season for the pairs first fully fledged collection.

Both brands share similar values and a similar approach, though Stussy's heritage and geographical location means that it may of had a larger impact on the global streetwear scene over the years, Patta's role in todays modern movement can't be overlooked, and both can be credited with having a hand in shaping the industry as we know it. Their interests in music, art and classic sportswear, as well as their shared spirit of independence has allowed the relationship to grow strong over the years, leading to a few collaborative capsule collections along the way. As Stussy continue to celebrate 35 years of prominence in streetwear and Patta continue to build on their already hugely influential presence on the global market, the timing seemed right for the pair to put their heads together on an expanded collaborative release.

The collection is largely graphic led and keeps things fairly simple throughout, drawing inspiration from 90's sportswear and applying retro colour treatments to their designs. A majority of the collection consists of bold dual branded staples such as tees, long sleeves and sweaters, but you will also find more considered fleece sweaters and functional outerwear, again referencing 90's athletic themes. Something that both Patta and Stussy do well in their main line collections and collaborative ventures is doing the simple things well, and whenever they do look to expand in to more experimental pieces, each piece has reason behind it. Rounding off the collection is a selection of knitwear, a tracksuit and also some patch work denim, inspired by past era trends in the Netherlands that Patta has always stayed true to and contributed to it's recent resurgence through ventures such as this.

It's great to see both brands give the fans what they want, not over complicating things and putting together a well rounded collection. The Stussy x Patta Autumn/Winter release will be available to purchase at Stussy's New York location and Patta's Amsterdam store on December the 12th, and will be available at Patta retailers, Stussy Chapters and stussy.com from the 18th of December.

Cote&Ciel x Karma Skateboards – Monsoon ‘Chaos’ Print

To commemorate Cote&Ciel’s new Monsoon ‘Chaos’ Print backpack collection, the Parisian brand have linked up with British skate company Karma Skateboards to produce a super limited deck series, that also feature the custom print.

The highly functional and lightweight Monsoon backpacks have been designed for urban living, featuring padded shoulder straps for added comfort and a laptop sleeve to help keep your valuables safe. Perhaps the most useful feature is the bags strap adjuster that allows the bag to expand and contract to adapt to your needs, keeping the bag functional yet versatile. The backpacks arrive with the ‘Chaos’ design, in two differen’t colour variations, applied as an all over print. Offered in soft pastel palette with hits of black and grey, and a more darker colour option of a carnelian red and dark onyx green mix, the print uses digital manipulation over paint and pigment, to bring more traditional forms of ‘abstract impressionism’ into modern day.

The stand out design has also been translated onto Karma decks to compliment the pack but also to build further on the idea of urban movement, with skateboarding a key choice of transport for many in major cities. The 10 limited edition decks are made from 100% American maple, grown in managed forests from the Great Lakes in Wisconsin. Each deck is designed and printed right here in the UK to ensure quality in all that Karma produce. You can find out more on Karma Skateboards over at www.karmaskateboards.com

HUF x Bronze56K Lookbook

HUF link up with in-demand New York skate crew Bronze56k on a limited capsule collection this season, made up of co-branded footwear and accessories.

Hot on the heels of Bronze’s hugely popular collab with London skate giants Palace, they now link up with San Fran juggernauts HUF on a small release that references themes from late 90’s and early 2000’s pop culture. Bronze56K have gained a large cult following from their lo-fi videos that have led the way for many other companies who have followed suit since, but Bronze have stood out with their unique aesthetic, paying homage to the dial up internet and cable TV era, that can be seen in edits such as Solo Jazz, Enron, and Trust.

The limited edition collection is made up of co-branded socks and a rework of HUF’s Classic Hi silhouette in a white suede with Bronze’s Microsoft inspired logo on the heel detailing. The lookbook above, shot by Brian Kelley, captures Bronze team riders Richie Rizzo and Josh Wilson shredding low lit city streets of New York City in the Classic Hi’s, wearing promo-only tees and hats bearing a playful rework of the Polo Sport logo with an added Bolt instead of the famous Polo stick.

The HUF x Bronze56K goes on sale tomorrow, the 30th of June, at select retailers including Flatspot. and at Manchester’s Note Shop.

HUF and Bronze56K also worked on a short edit to commemorate the release, which features team riders Dick Rizzo and Josh Wilson shred the streets of New York in the co-branded Classic Hi’s. Enjoy the full video below shot by Bronze co-founder and videographer Peter Sidlauskas.

ALIFE x Raekwon

Following up on their main line release this season and their high profile collaboration with PUMA earlier this year, ALIFE team up with regular ‘sessions’ collaborator and hip hop legend Raekwon on this limited edition t-shirt.

This isn’t the first time ALIFE have printed a rapper on the front of a tee, having worked with the likes New York rapper Jadakiss in the past. This time around, Wu-Tangs Raekwon adopts a simple ALIFE logo tee and a bunch of roses concealing a pistol, possibly a nod to the Valentine’s Day party he played earlier this year, in the tees photo print that was shot by Harry McNally.

Made in the USA out of 100% cotton, the limited edition ALIFE x Raekwon tee is available to pick up now at The Chimp Store.
