Stüssy x DSM T-Shirt Retrospective

Stüssy are set to bring a retrospective exhibition to Dover Street Market London this weekend focusing on the brands long history with the graphic t-shirt - spanning over 35 years.

Alongside the exhibition, which will hold 8 of the brands most iconic t-shirt designs from their archive, there will also be an opportunity to purchase a selection of classic designs, re-issued for the occasion. Stüssy's 8-Ball back print and ”Charlie Don’t Surf” tee make an appearance, as well as two new collaborative designs with DSM themselves. Rounding the special event off, Stüssy have also teamed up with London based book publisher IDEA on a limited-edition book, holding 240-pages of never before seen archive imagery and ads from the likes of Ari Marcopoulos, Inez + Vinoodh, Terry Richardson and many more.

The full collection will be available at all Dover Street Market locations and online from Friday the 25th of August.

Brain Dead x Vans

Vans continue to add to their long list of collaborative ventures, this time tapping the mind of Kyle NG - the creative force behind Brain Dead, on a subtle rework of the classic Sk8-Hi silhouette.

The collaboration sees the reprise of the brands ever popular and iconic checkerboard pattern, applied to three tonal styles of the classic Sk8-Hi silhouette. The textured upper is complimented with tonal lacing and sole unit, which is detailed with “STAMP OUT REALITY” embossed in to the midsole, and capped off with subtle Brain Dead patch branding on the ankle.

The Brain Dead x Vans Sk8-Hi release is now available exclusively at Dover Street Market locations in New York and London, as well as online.

Brain Dead “World Update” Installation at DSM London

BrainDead-WorldUpdate-1

In celebration of common interests, Brain Dead and Dover Street Market come together on an exclusive collaborative collection and a new in-store installation at DSM’s London location.

The theme of both the collection and installation centres around the pairs shared passions in various trends and emerging subcultures from music, culture and art, and the space in-between these worlds. Although it’s their most diverse offering so far, it’s not the first time the two parties have come together on a collaborative venture, with Brain Dead putting their artistic direction towards an exclusive t-shirt collection towards the end of last year.

The new “World Update” installation is set to host exhibitions, as well as showcase zines, records and extremely limited art pieces that align with Brain Dead’s aesthetic. The main focus of the space will be the latest Brain Dead x DSM collaborative collection which features a monochromatic selection of unique graphic tees, crewneck sweatshirts, custom headwear and the stand out ‘Jumanji’ jacket. Capping it all off, there will also be a scarf exhibit displayed on the walls of the space, featuring the work of Clay Arlington, Kevin Harris, Tim Head, Chris Oh, Jen Shear and B. Thom Stevenson. Each piece is unique and arrives in editions of 5. When purchased each scarf will come with a hand-signed certificate from each artist and will be presented in a collectors box

You can shop the Brain Dead x Dover Street Market collection over on the DSM website now. If you’re around London over the next two weeks, be sure to head down to the store to check out the space.

Stussy x Dover Street Market AW15 Lookbook

In celebrating 35 years of the brands presence on the global streetwear scene, Stussy once again team up with iconic retailer Dover Street Market on a collaborative capsule collection this season.

Following on from the pairs initial collaborative effort earlier this year, Stussy and DSM come together to celebrate the LA streetwear giant’s rich heritage and dominance in the market since 1980. As one of the most accessible and iconic brands of all time, Stussy has continuously developed it’s line to adhere to various trends and fashions throughout the years, while always staying true to their instantly recognisable aesthetic. The limited capsule will look to classic Stussy pieces to inform the release, consisting of a 6-panel cap’s, a coach jacket, woven long sleeve shirts utilising blocked gingham check in the designs. Custom graphic based t-shirts which include an exclusive “London World Tour” T-shirt designed by Mark Lebon as well as 20 hand-stitched tees by Deanna Fanning round off the collection.

In conjunction with the release, DSM are putting together a Stussy installation in the basement of their London store, which is showcasing various pieces from the brands rich archive of t-shirt designs from previous era’s. The Stussy x DSM ’35th anniversary’ AW15 collection will be available online and at Dover Street Market’s London, Ginza and New York locations from Friday the 2nd of October.
