BWGH x Puma – Spring/Summer 2015

  Brooklyn We Go Hard (BWGH) and PUMA continue their fruitful relationship with their latest collaborative instalment for Spring/Summer 2015.

The Parisian label, founded by David Obadia and Nelson Hassan, has gained global recognition for its sophisticated designs. Drawing inspiration from their own experiences, they utilise premium materials and considered cuts and fits to produce contemporary menswear styles with a street ready feel.

BWGH’s quality in design meets PUMA’s sports heritage once again for their Spring/Summer 2015 collection which features new colour palettes and several new materials applied to a range of footwear, apparel and accessories. Once again using BWGH’s pattern and measurement charts as a base, classic sportswear inspired pieces see premium materials such as plush nubuck, smooth leather and jersey applications throughout the collection.

The release pulls further inspiration from the work of New York artist Ethan Cooke, referencing his iconic square and rectangle prints and subtle colour palette’s of light greys and blues. Rounding off the release is a retro reinterpretation of the classic R698 shape, aligning with the themes of the apparel selection.

The BWGH x PUMA Spring/Summer 2015 collection is available at the following retailers from the 31st of January;

Vans x Gosha Rubchinskiy

It was almost this time last year that Vans teamed up with emerging Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy  on a premium rework of the brands iconic Old Skool silhouette. This Spring/Summer the two come together again, this time reworking the classic low profile skate silhouette – the Vans Slip-On.

Rubchinskiy has been gaining quite a following thanks to his inventive streetwear designs, drawing influence from skateboarding and punk, his collections offer up a contemporary twist to more traditional pieces. Having already worked his magic on the iconic old skool silhouette this month, he now turns his attention to the popular slip-on. The latest iterations use a cream coloured canvas base on the upper with an all over ‘rising sun’ graphic print on the toe box and heel. The pack offers up black and red colour options, both of which sit on top of a contrasting white midsole with blue trim detailing.

You can pick up both pairs of the Vans x Gosha Rubchinskiy  Slip-Ons over at Dover Street Market now.

Garbstore SS15 Lookbook – South Shelter

Garbstore continue to develop their in-house range and with it their interesting concepts and sharp visuals, as they showcase their latest offerings for Spring/Summer 2015.

Entitled South Shelter, Garbstore have taken a minimal approach to both the collection and lookbook, which is shot in an intentionally empty Victorian swimming pool. While incorporating several themes into the release, a key focus for the collection is structuring layers, creating garments that utilise simplistic design but take careful consideration in choice of fabric such as Japanese woven Jacquards, as well as taking time to ensure the best fit and quality in construction.

The name ‘South Shelter’ references the melancholy designs on the t-shirt options, contrasting the tropical and flower themed prints that offer a slightly more light hearted undertone to the release. Amongst the more essential items such as the patterned shirts, pullovers and hoodies,  stand out pieces include the vintage inspired maintanence jacket and chinos that make use of traditional fabrics hand finished with splashes of bleach and oil paint, to give it a naturally aged look.

Stutterheim Raincoats

Our friends in Scandinavia know a thing or two when it comes to outerwear, with some of the worlds leading brands emerging from the region. One brand we’ve had our eye on recently is Swedish label Stutterheim and in particular their minimal ‘Stockholm’ rain coat designs.

The brand began after founder Alex Stutterheim stumbled across one of his grandads fisherman style rain coats. Bringing back cherished memories, the coat would inspire him to go on to source materials, and take cues from the original design, reworking the classic style ready for the modern day. The ‘Stockholm’ coat is constructed from a rubberised cotton, making it both waterproof and windproof, with all seams double welded to ensure you remain protected from the elements. Despite a lack in innovative technology, the coats simplicity both in it’s construction and its aesthetic makes it an easy to wear, timeless piece. Additional features include a drawstring hood, popper buttons and holes under the armpits for ventilation.

Stutterheim’s ‘Stockholm’ coat is available now in a variety of colour’s over at www.peggsandson.com
