KR3W x French Spring/Summer 2015

KR3w link up with UK artist Funeral French a.k.a Richard Sayer for their latest collaborative effort this Spring/Summer 2015.

Co-owner and art director of 1939 Skates and Witchcraft, French is a globally renowned artist and skateboarder famed for his instantly recognisable style that depicts darkness, war and terror, through meticulously illustrated pieces. French has managed to stand out from the rest and gain the interest he has throughout his career through sticking to his guns, mastering his unique style and from this has produced some of the most sought after pieces in his field of music, fashion and more notably skateboarding.

KR3w’s dark aesthetic matches up perfectly with French’s style and the two coming together in the brands latest collaborative effort seems like a match made in heaven. Part of KR3w’s ‘Rights Refused’ campaign, the concise collection is made up of staple pieces including a tee, long sleeve and cap which all adorn an exclusive graphic from French that gives his rendition of Death and also features the motto ‘Fast life, Slow Death’ – KR3W’s take on the classic ‘Live fast, die young’ saying.

The KR3w x French Spring/Summer 2015 capsule is available now at Slam City

KR3W Spring 2015 Lookbook

Prior to KR3W‘s Fall/Winter 2014 release we were lucky enough to catch up with Jack Toledo, KR3W’s design director. We touched on how the brand and it’s collections were continuing to mature and develop, to produce more considered lifestyle driven pieces. The same direction is applied to their Spring 2015 collection entitled ‘Nobody’s Hero’, which has been showcased in this alluring lookbook, shot by Cameron Strand.
The collection is comprised of essential staples from button up shirts to long sleeve tees, featuring minimal graphics and subtle prints for a clean aesthetic throughout. There is also a healthy selection of Denim, utilising a variety of washes including white static, light stone and artisan blue. Within the collection, the ‘Rights Refused’ program returns, this time collaborating with celebrated 90’s grunge photographer Charles Peterson, applying his iconic imagery to a range of long and short sleeved tees and tanks.
The lookbook was shot in Borrego Springs in the Californian desert, capturing the essence of the collection as well as its seasonal palette of eggshell, dark teal and dark slate, with its raw imagery. The KR3W Spring 2015 collection is available now Slam City and Parlour Skate Store

KR3W Rights Refused: Charles Peterson

KR3W have linked up with revered music photographer Charles Peterson to celebrate his role in immortalising the birth of grunge in this concise capsule collection.

The Rights Refused programme hand picks artists, musician’s and craftsman who have gone against the grain, choosing to do things their own way and because of that have made an impact through their art. This season, Kr3W look to Charles Peterson, whose raw images give an honest and gritty documentation of the grunge movement that inspired a generation. It’s a sincere tale of the rebellious spirit of grunge’s leaders and followers captured through the lens of Peterson.

Following the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s untimely death, Charles Peterson opens up his archives and applies four of his most iconic images onto tees, long sleeves, vest tops and cut and sew shirts, each of which tell their own story of a moment that changed music history forever.

KR3W Holiday 2014 Lookbook

KR3W continue the ‘dark americana’ theme from their Autumn release as they present their latest offering for Holiday 2014.

It’s no secret that we were huge fans of KR3W’s previous collection. With Jack Toledo at the head of the brands design, the release was their most mature to date and firmly re-announced that the brand, which had once seemingly lost its way, is well and truly back on track.

KR3W continue in the same vein and maintain their moody aesthetic with a monochromatic colour palette full of dark washes, over-dyed pieces and muted pops of tartan. The Holiday release features the brands signature graphic emblazoned tees, alongside cut and sew pieces in jackets, sweaters and shirts that take a more subtle design approach. The waxed terry fleece coach jacket is the stand out piece from this one and the collection also unveils the highly anticipated Eric Dressen capsule release.

The KR3W Holiday 2014 collection is available now at the brands website kr3wdenim.com and selected retailers including routeone.co.uk

Following our recent Q & A with the brands design director Jack Toledo, we take a closer look into KR3W‘s Autumn collection and highlight some of our favourite pieces in our latest lookbook.

Aptly entitled the ‘Dark Americana’ collection, the Americana inspired release arrives in a moody colour palette with lots of dark washes, blacks, greys, shadow plaid and camo. Alongside iconic graphic pieces such as the grim reaper and KR3W KILLS designs, is a range of more technical cut and sew items from expertly crafted jackets to shirting, as well as fashionable basics and a clean headwear selection.

Making its first appearance, the No.11 range sits within the mainline collection and features a range of classic cuts in both denim and non-denim bottoms, as well as shirts and outerwear pieces made from premium fabrics. Honouring their skateboarding roots, the new Rehab Denim technology is applied to classic KR3W styles to provide durability, comfort and a superior fit during movement.
