Converse One Star Pro by Sage Elsesser

Having already added his own twist to the updated CTAS Pro Hi silhouette, Sage Elsesser now turns to another classic from Converse and looks to the past for inspiration in his latest pro release on CONS.

Originally introduced back in 1974, the One Star has remained a staple in the lifestyle market, while more recentley becoming one of the most prominent styles in skateboarding with the release of the reinforced One Star Pro. CONS rider Sage found inspiration in an old pair from the 70's that he stumbled across in a vintage store out in Japan, and aimed to match the original style down to the finest details. The resulting shoe is offered up in two material and colour options, with the Navy adopting a rugged hairy suede on the upper, and the white constructed from a premium white leather. As with most CONS Pro models, the latest iteration of the One Star Pro feature the Lunarlon insole for added cushioning on impact, while the rest of the design maintains the shoes iconic shape. Each shoe is finished with subtle detailing including the Converse Star logo on the heel and the custom Sage rose embroidered on the tongue, all of which sits on top of an off white sole unit.

The Converse Cons x Sage Elsesser One Star CC Pro is set to drop online at www.converse.com/uk and select CONS retailers including Slam City Skates, on Friday February 10th.

Converse One Star “Hairy Suede” Pack

Converse have given the One Star a textured material update for Spring, offering four colour ways in the aptly named "Hairy Suede" pack.

The One Star has made it's mark on both the lifestyle and skate scene since it was first re-introduced to the market back in the 90's, a symbol of counter culture, more recent times saw the classic 70's style re-worked with several technical details and re-packaged as a high spec skate shoe. Having already undergone several material and colour reworks over the past year, the One Star returns this season with a durable 'hairy' suede applied to the upper, offered up in four simplistic colour options of red, blue, yellow and black, the colours available upon its original release. The shoe maintains its newly added technical features, which inlcudes a comfort enhancing Nike Lunarlon sockliner, and a lightweight vulcanised rubber outsole provides extra traction for superior grip. All four colour options are finished with contrasting white lacing, star branding on the side panels and sole unit, accented with black piping.

Converse ‘One Star Pro’ – New Colourways

Last month saw the return of one of the Converse ‘One Star’, one of the brands most iconic styles since it’s initially release back in 1974, resurfacing as an updated skate ready pro shoe in two colour options. This week saw the introduction of three additional colour ways in the hugely popular silhouette as red, off white and navy joined the staple black edition.

The low-cut shoe features the brands iconic star logo, drawn from the Chuck Taylor’s famous ankle patch and placed into the mid-foot panels. All colours feature tonal lacing and piping, except the off white option which features complimenting red on the piping and white laces. The functionality arrives in the shoes lightweight lunarlon sock-liner which provides cushioning upon impact, the memory foam gusseted tongue that stabilises the foot and the grippy gum rubber outsole. Aside from the technical updates, little has been done to the look of the shoe, keeping it as close to the original as possible and because of that, it remains a highly wearable classic.

The Converse One Star Pro is available now at selected retailers including Slam City and Parlour Skate Store.

Additional features include a moulded volt lunarlon insole for protection upon impact, tonal lacing, a perforated memory foam gussetted tongue that stops the foot from slipping and finally a lighteweight CONS traction, gum coloured rubber outsole for superior grip.
