Converse CONS X Polar Skate Co.

Following sneak peeks of the collab surfacing on social media on Monday night, Converse CONS and Polar Skate Co. offer a closer look and set a release date for their first collaborative effort and we couldn’t be more excited!

Taking each brands artistic direction into consideration, CONS and brand ambassador Pontus Alv (founder of Polar Skate Co.) deliver a seven piece collection featuring footwear and apparel pieces based on subtle designs and performance.

Starting with the footwear, the CONS CTAS Pro undergoes its latest rework with all of the shoes performance features in tact. Sitting on top of a clean white midsole and complementing toe cap, the collection offers black, natural and blue colour options with additional detailing in the happy/sad logo on the heel tab and inner tongue labels. Despite the subtle approach to the shoes design, there is no lack of technical features, with durable premium suede uppers, moulded multi-density Lunarlon sockliner for added comfort and impact protection, as well as traction rubber vulcanised outsole and waxed laces. The result is an extremely wearable, skate ready shoe.

Rounding off the collection is a complimenting apparel collection made up of four t-shirt designs, with illustrative back prints on white and heather grey crew necks and full-body abstract prints on black and white collared tees.

Polar Skate Co. founder Pontus Alv had this to say on the release:

“We are stoked to work with Converse CONS on our first collaborative collection, we’ve wanted to create a super-clean Chuck Taylor Pro in suede right from the beginning of working together. They skate really well, they look great and they last”

The Converse Cons X Polar Skate Co. capsule collection is available in limited quantities exclusively in Europe from Friday the 26th of September and will be released globally on Saturday the 4th of October. The collection will be available at the following stockists;

Butter Goods Spring/Summer 2014

For those of you who aren’t quite ready to let Summer go just yet, thanks to reverse seasons down under, Australian brand Butter Goods have got you covered with a range of casual summer staples.

The brand cleverly matches it’s visuals to the raw aesthetic of the logo heavy collection with a lookbook reminiscent of old punk and hardcore album covers. The 90’s skate inspired release features a range of graphic and logo based items including tees, short-sleeved shirts, chinos and headwear. Our favourite piece from the collection is the rugby jersey in the navy, red and white colour block, which may well be my final Summer purchase before we move into Autumn.

The Butter Goods Spring/Summer 2014 collection will be available from tomorrow (20th of September) in stores and from the 24th of September online at www.buttergoods.com

MAGENTA Skateboards – Crossing the Perth Dimension

Magenta are one of the most exciting skate brands to come out of France in the past few years, with solid designs for both their decks and apparel range, as well as a unique style in photography and video.

Last April (2013) the Magenta team travelled to Perth, one of the most remote cities on earth, to link up with their Australian connect to produce a 10 minute short film by Josh Roberts. The film features Leo Valls, Jimmy Lannon and Koichiro Uehara, as well as Australian rider James Whineray, longtime friend Liu Puli and the Perth locals.

The film is shot in a mixture of VX-1000 and Super8 footage from Josh Roberts, James Whineray and Leo Valls, and also includes analog photography from Liu Puli, James Whineray, Garth Mariano and Josh Roberts, with illustrations by Soy Panday.

Check out the film below and for more information on the brand or to buy the DVD or shop the collection visit www.magentaskateboards.com

P-Rod’s Primitive Apparel release their eagerly anticipated second drop from the in-house Fall 2014 range.

Continuing to explore new styles and designs, Primitive introduce new cut and sew items in shirting, joggers and outerwear, as well as some winter ready headwear. The Warpath Long Sleeve Tee and The Quest Bucket hats were our top picks from a release that blends skate and street wear styles, and sees the brand continue to expand into new territory.

Turbokolor Fall/Winter 2014 – Delivery 1

Pawel Swanski’s Turbokolor present their first delivery for Fall/Winter 2014 with a clever accompanying lookbook capturing Warsaw based craftsman in their area of work entitled ‘Men With Dirty Hands’

The Polish brand have certainly put in some work of their own on a technical yet well rounded release inspired by classic workwear and military styles. Calling on Swanksi’s rich history in design, customised Paisley and Camo prints are applied to staple pieces in all over prints as well as subtle details.

Taking into consideration the diminishing weather in the Eastern part of Europe during fall, the collection is largely outerwear focused with key pieces including the woollen varsity jacket and the insulated Ewald Jacket.

Turbokolor’s first delivery from their Fall/Winter collection is available now at turbokolor.com
