The Hundreds by Todd Bratrud Collection

The Hundreds link up with the sharpie-wielding Todd Bratrud as they apply the artists unique, teen-inspired designs to a selection of apparel in their latest collaborative capsule collection.

Having previously worked with the likes of Nike SB and Volcom, Todd Bratrud’s style fits well into the Californian street wear brands aesthetic, taking inspiration from our favourite juvenile vices including comic books, pin-ball machine artwork, skateboarding and half-naked ladies, as well as an appearance from The Hundreds iconic Adam Bomb. The collection arrives in a black and white colour palette and consists of short and long sleeves tees, pullover hoodies, woven button down shirt, 5 panel and a fitting notebook and sharphie combo.

Todd Bratrud said this on the collab:

“This project and these drawings are as simple as what happens when you keep a marker on you at all times, obviously bathroom walls are where the best examples of this style of ‘art’ can be found. Also, I physically (and mentally) can’t stop drawing, so these crude drawings might be the most accurate depiction of how my mind works when it comes to creating art.”

Converse CONS X Polar Skate Co.

Following sneak peeks of the collab surfacing on social media on Monday night, Converse CONS and Polar Skate Co. offer a closer look and set a release date for their first collaborative effort and we couldn’t be more excited!

Taking each brands artistic direction into consideration, CONS and brand ambassador Pontus Alv (founder of Polar Skate Co.) deliver a seven piece collection featuring footwear and apparel pieces based on subtle designs and performance.

Starting with the footwear, the CONS CTAS Pro undergoes its latest rework with all of the shoes performance features in tact. Sitting on top of a clean white midsole and complementing toe cap, the collection offers black, natural and blue colour options with additional detailing in the happy/sad logo on the heel tab and inner tongue labels. Despite the subtle approach to the shoes design, there is no lack of technical features, with durable premium suede uppers, moulded multi-density Lunarlon sockliner for added comfort and impact protection, as well as traction rubber vulcanised outsole and waxed laces. The result is an extremely wearable, skate ready shoe.

Rounding off the collection is a complimenting apparel collection made up of four t-shirt designs, with illustrative back prints on white and heather grey crew necks and full-body abstract prints on black and white collared tees.

Polar Skate Co. founder Pontus Alv had this to say on the release:

“We are stoked to work with Converse CONS on our first collaborative collection, we’ve wanted to create a super-clean Chuck Taylor Pro in suede right from the beginning of working together. They skate really well, they look great and they last”

The Converse Cons X Polar Skate Co. capsule collection is available in limited quantities exclusively in Europe from Friday the 26th of September and will be released globally on Saturday the 4th of October. The collection will be available at the following stockists;

Butter Goods Spring/Summer 2014

For those of you who aren’t quite ready to let Summer go just yet, thanks to reverse seasons down under, Australian brand Butter Goods have got you covered with a range of casual summer staples.

The brand cleverly matches it’s visuals to the raw aesthetic of the logo heavy collection with a lookbook reminiscent of old punk and hardcore album covers. The 90’s skate inspired release features a range of graphic and logo based items including tees, short-sleeved shirts, chinos and headwear. Our favourite piece from the collection is the rugby jersey in the navy, red and white colour block, which may well be my final Summer purchase before we move into Autumn.

The Butter Goods Spring/Summer 2014 collection will be available from tomorrow (20th of September) in stores and from the 24th of September online at www.buttergoods.com

There are logo based hoodies, tees and sweatshirts, while they continue to work with UK illustrator Arran Gregory on printed sweaters, tees and embroidered beanies and shirts.
