Levi’s Commuter Series – Fall 2014

As keen city riders, the Levi commuter range was certainly a break through for us, combining utility and functionality with authentic workwear styling. Whether you’re cycling, skating or have another means of alternative transport, the Levi Commuter range presents a well rounded collection inspired by city life for fall 2014.

Using designs based on the needs of the cyclist, Levi’s Commuter combine innovative fabrics with practical detailing. The collection provides convenience, mobility, safety and protection for the rider, whilst maintaining Levi’s commitment to quality in style.

Their latest release features new technical additions in the form of water resistant fabrics used for jackets such as the Packable Shell Jacket and Field Parka. The latest advancements in materials allow for extra breathability and insulation for shifts in weather and body temperature, as well as stretch-woven fabrics for increased movement. The range features high levels of detailing including reflective tape for visibility and concealed pockets for extra storage during travel.

Key pieces from the collection include the Commuter Denim Trucker Jacket which is made from pima cotton for durability, it is water, dirt and odour resistant and features an extended tail and sleeves for extra coverage. The Commuter Woven Shirt provides a smart-casual style approach, made from Coolmax stretch chambray, a drop-rail for coverage when riding and reinforced arm panels.

The Hundreds Fall 2014 Collection Preview

Californian streetwear giants The Hundreds give us a glimpse of whats to be expected in their 90’s inspired release for Fall 2014.

Having channeled the 90’s in previous collections, their upcoming release continues to draw themes from the decade, in particular peoples love for music and how this was synonymous with the style of the time.

“…There was something charmingly individualistic and expressive about that, and reflective of adolescent tribalism and community formation. And although it was an exclusive practice – rather than all-encompassing and accepting – I believe the music meant a lot more to youth during this time, because it wasn’t just something you listened to, but something you lived.” – Bobby Hundreds

The diverse collection covers everything from bomber jackets to flannel shirts to cargo pants and much more, with a style that is reminiscent of the west and east coast hip-hop subcultures of the yester-millenium. The preview shots also give us a sneak-peek into the exciting sports collaboration from The Hundreds X Spalding, of which more details will soon be available.

Keep an eye out for more information on the collection which will be dropping at UK stockists from the beginning of August. For more visit: thehundreds.com

The Quiet Life X Watershed Collection and Pop-Up Store

The Quiet Life join forces with UK based outdoor lifestyle store Watershed to present their ‘Glass and Sew’ collaboration.

Since its inception back in 2011, Watershed store have worked to provide their consumer base with unique product that is hard to find anywhere else, as well as developing their own surf range to fulfil demand for boards made to tackle UK waves. The ‘Glass and Sew’ collaboration combines The Quiet Life’s focus on unique materials and fabrics, with Watershed’s expertise within surfing and surf board design.

Watershed co founders – James Wright & Jake Patterson said this on the collection;

“Working with The Quiet Life has allowed us to take the glass and sew concept a step further. The opportunity to create a full range with such an established and influential brand has been absolutely amazing”.

The collection consists of graphic raglan-sleeved tees and hoodies, as well as cut and sew items in the short sleeve woven shirts and beach shorts. Headwear selections include a printed bucket hat, 5 panel and 6 panel. The collections surf theme is really brought to life through four customer designed surfboard’s two made in the UK and two in California.

Andy Mueller of The Quiet Life had this to say;

“Working with Watershed was great because it was a true collaboration – both Quiet Life and Watershed brought ideas to each other and we worked well together as a group to make each other’s ideas stronger and unified. It was a fun project as it involved all of my favourite things – creating new graphics, developing a unique cut and sew collection, and introducing two new garments to Quiet Life – the beach zip up and the beach shorts”.

To celebrate the collaboration, Watershed will be taking their concept store to London’s Boxpark from the 14th up until the 20th of July. The collection will be sitting alongside Watershed’s own range and The Quiet Life’s latest release.
