Carhartt WIP Autumn/Winter 2016 Look-Book

Carhartt WIP recently dropped the visuals for their Autumn/Winter 2016 line, showcasing a diverse selection of apparel, drawing influence from various themes.

The in house Work In Progress brand was founded in 1989 with the sole purpose of redesigning and reshaping classic Carhartt looks for modern city life, all while staying true to the core ideals of the brand; quality, comfort and durability.

This is pretty evident in the latest drop, as the classic pieces are all there however, along with well-known patterns and motifs; they’ve been given modern twists and have been re-imagined for 2016.

The versatility of the clothing is evident in both the male and female collections this season, as elements from menswear and street-wear come together to showcase the eclectic nature of the brand itself.

Select pieces are available now at a number of Carhartt WIP retailers as well as their web store.

Brixton Fall 2016 Lookbook

Brixton have dropped a brand new set of visual to showcase their latest wears for Fall 2016. Again capturing the collection amongst a laid back Southern Californian back drop, the look book perfectly captures the essence of the brand, highlighting their inspirations from various sub-cultures within music, surf, skateboarding and biking. The collection, as always, is diverse and offers a mix of workwear inspired pieces, to more graphic heavy street wear, all the way down to casual loungewear. Their light jacket and shirting options are what really stand out for me, offering laid back, timeless styles in highly wearable colour palettes and minimal branding. Exactly what I'm after.

Dickies Summer Lookbook 2

Dickies Life Summer 2016 Lookbook

Dickies have unveiled their latest set of visuals, shot around the city of London by James Grant, showcasing the new Summer collection from their style focused 'Life' range.

As we have seen from other heritage workwear labels in the past, most notably Carhartt with their Work In Progress line, Dickies now look to rework several of the brands iconic workwear silhouettes to cater for the street level European market. Following it's meteoric rise as one of the staple brands in streetwear and skateboarding over recent years, we have seen the brand begin to update their classic designs with a sensibility towards the fashion markets, even collaborating with the likes of Yardsale and Stussy to further grow their presence in the field.

The Summer 2016 collection from Dickies Life celebrates the brands rich heritage in workwear with solid construction to offer both practicality and functionality in design, but puts more emphasise on shape and material updates for more of a contemporary feel to each piece. Maintaining core styles such as the work pant, torrance jacket, and staples such as sweatshirts and basic tees, the range is really brought to life with bold camo prints and tropical inspired patterns applied to short sleeve shirts and headwear. Additional stand out items include the mesh basketball jersey, denim trucker jacket and the 'D' polo cap.

The Dickies Life Summer 2016 collection is available now at www.dickieslife.com and select UK stockists.

Carhartt SS16 Lookbook 1

Carhartt WIP SS16 Lookbook

Carhartt's street level 'Work In Progress' imprint have released the visuals to their SS16 collection, which sees the brand update some of their more familiar styles as well as introduce some new seasonal pieces.

While maintaining Carhartt's ethos in robust, durable construction, Carhartt WIP's approach is a lot more accessible and allows the brand to experiment with different influences in their design . For Spring/Summer 2016 we see a lot more sportswear and athletic inspired pieces, with collegiate text featuring on coach jacket styles, rugby shirts, hoodies and sweaters, as well as a two piece tracksuit which includes a track top and bottoms, a far cry from the brands workwear roots. They have made use of various prints throughout, with military inspired camouflage applied to several items and seasonal tropical prints on short-sleeve shirts, as well as updating classic workwear designs and fabrications, such as the denim dungarees and chore jacket styles, which have been reworked with a streetwear sensibility. The collection is rounded off with a concise footwear and accessory range, including sunglasses, slip-on shoes and a fold out chair for those camp-outs.

Carhartt WIP’s SS16 collection is available now at select stockists and Carhartt's webstore.
