ASICS x Highs and Lows Gel-Lyte III “Silverscreen”

Asics continue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their coveted Gel-Lyte III design by teaming up with another notable name from around the world, as they present the Asics x Highs and Lows “Silverscreen” release.

The shoes design draws inspiration from The Astor, and iconic cinema house located in Mount Hawley of HAL’s native Perth. First opened in 1919, The Astor remains one of the cultural and artistic hubs of the city, and a premiere destination for independent cinema, various global music events and stage shows. The Gel-Lyte III silhouette is reworked with a premium suede, leather and nubuck mix, decorated in soft mint pastel and a contrasting deep red on the Asics side panel branding, inspired by the decor of the theatre.  Additional features include crisp white laces and midsole, 3M accents throughout, and an embossed Mayan motif on the heel detailing. The “Silverscreen” reference is completed with a silent film countdown print on the pairs custom innersoles which sit alongside a soft leather lining.

The Asics x Highs and Lows Gel-Lyte III “Silverscreen” is available now at select retailers.

Butter Goods Summer 2015

Butter Goods Summer 2015 Lookbook

Perth’s Butter Goods return with their latest lookbook showcasing new skate ready goods ready for the Australian Summer.

Although we won’t be blessed with the sunny weather which is on it’s way down under, we can still appreciate some good design work, and Butter Good’s latest collection is full of that. They continue to stick closely to the themes we saw in previous collections, from the visuals to the heavily graphic lead t-shirt and long sleeve designs. The colour palette is varied throughout, with some familiar pieces reworked for the new season as well as some new playful print designs that put a different spin on some iconic logos and characters. Rounding off the release we have a small selection of caps and shorts, as well as the stand out retro soccer jersey, which look like they’ve been inspired by the old USA kits.

The lookbook shot by Garth Mariano and Jay Dymock once again takes us on a tour through the brands home town of Perth, hitting up various street spots with the Butter Goods team donning the new garms. You can expect to see Butter Goods Summer 2015 collection arriving on UK shores at retailers including Urban Industry and Scene Preston from next week.

Noah NY Fall/Winter 2015 Lookbook

It’s been a release that we have been eagerly anticipating since we first heard word of Brendon Babenzien leaving Supreme and announcing his intentions of reviving his Noah line. For Fall/Winter 2015 we can now take a first look at the brands new creative direction as they unveil their lookbook shot by Jake Davies.

For the man so deeply involved in Supreme’s meteoric rise to the top of the streetwear game, it’s unsurprising that the Noah collection would share some similarities. Referencing punk rock culture and post skate fashion, and drawing influence from athletic, military and outdoor designs, it is, like certain tiers within Supreme releases, a mature approach to ‘streetwear’ design. Overall it’s an extremely considered release, starting with the basic graphic tee’s and hoodies and working it’s way through to the more specialist cut and sew, with double breasted shirt options and patchwork knits, as well as casual bottoms and some well executed heavyweight outerwear. The collection is rounded off by a concise collection of headwear and accessories, most notably the 6-panel curved brim cap which is sure to be an instant sell out. All in all it’s a successful return from a brand with a strong sense of direction and one that leaves us with a lot of excitement and curiosity to see how it continues to develop.

You can shop the collection and find out a bit more on Noah over on their web store now – www.noahny.com

Vault by Vans x The North Face

Two giants in their own field, Vans and The North Face come together this season to produce the ultimate winterised footwear collection.

Both Vans and The North Face are companies that hold a rich heritage, both specialists in their own field that are renowned for their innovation and their creative expression, so when a collaboration like this comes about you know it’s going to be well thought through and well executed. The Vault by Vans MTE range already boasts some solid winterised footwear styles, but twin that with The North Face’s knowledge in highly functional outerwear design and each style has been enhanced tenfold.

The classic SK8-HI MTE LX and the Desert Chukka MTE LX are the focus for this release, reworked and reinforced with signature performance features from The North Face, ensuring your feet stay warm, dry and comfortable through any conditions. The upper boasts several technical features including water-repellant leather and suede uppers, as well as gusseted tongues to stop any unwanted weather getting through. Both shoes are lined with DRI-LEX® materials, and sit on top of considered sole units, constructed with reversed waffle lug soles for increase traction and a winterGRIP® tacky rubber which is designed to remain soft through freezing conditions, ensuring stability on icy surfaces. Each style is available in three subtle colour options, with nice added touches in the embossed TNF heel strikes, Vans ‘Off the Wall’ heel scab markers and co-branded footbed logos on each pair which complete the look.  To accompany the footwear line, The North Face ‘Nuptse’ jacket has been given a collaborative update, maintaining all the qualities that have made the jacket so popular such as it’s water-repellant coating, insulated lining and double-layered in taffeta padding, but updated with a new checkerboard print that pays homage to Vans’ iconic print and arriving in a stealthy black-on-black colour treatment.

The Vault by Vans x The North Face collaborative collection will be available tomorrow (31st of October) in limited quantities from selected stockists including Footpatrol, Goodhood and Sneakersnstuff.

Nike SB CK Zoom All Court in Baroque Brown

Having unveiled the highly anticipated pro shoe from team rider Cory Kennedy earlier this season, Nike SB present the latest iteration, which arrives in a baroque brown and ivory colour option.

The upgraded tennis classic remains one of our favourite footwear releases of the year since it was introduced in its black and white colour way back in August. Having removed the snake skin treatment on the swoosh, which has been reworked with a soft leather, the timeless style has just got even better. The hard-wearing suede upper has been reworked with a rich brown colour treatment, which features tonal lacing and tonal leather lining, meeting with contrasting ivory accents on the swoosh branding, sole unit and heel. The shoe retains its slimmed down rubber toe cap which improves flick and it’s Zoom Air technology in the midsole for responsive, spring-like cushioning when landing.

You can pick up the Nike SB CK Zoom All Court in Baroque Brown at Flatspot now.
