Only NY SS15

ONLY NY SS15 Lookbook

New York’s ONLY NY pay homage to their city in their latest set of visuals, highlighting key pieces from their Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

Shot by regular collaborator Ashton Alexander, the lookbook utilises the sunny city scape as a backdrop to showcase a range of staple streetwear items including graphic tees, fleeces, light outerwear and a selection of weather appropriate headwear. The collection sticks largely to ONLY NY’s identifiable aesthetic, with subtle colour applications, bold hand drawn prints and several reworks of the brands logo.

Undeniably New York through and through, the ONLY NY Spring/Summer 2015 collection will be available shortly in UK retailers including Urban Industry, 5Pointz and Chimp Store.

GARBSTORE SS15

Garbstore SS15 “Cornerstone” Lookbook

Notting Hill mainstay Garbstore present a selection of seasonal looks from their current inventory in this minimal lookbook, aptly named “Cornerstone”.

Following up on their in-house visuals earlier this year, their latest lookbook focuses on a selection of key pieces from some of the most revered brands they stock including Engineered Garments, Norse Projects, Palace, Needles and more, as well subtle features from their in-house designs and also utilising their Spring footwear collaboration with Reebok Classics.

The claustrophobic setting helps to highlight a series of contemporary looks, combining numerous themes in an array of garments including staple pieces, accessories and more technical outerwear.

Trax Couture X Footpatrol X Puma

Trax Couture x Footpatrol x Puma R698

PUMA and Footpatrol pay homage to Record Store Day as they team up with London-based underground record label Trax Couture for a collaborative rework of PUMA’s R698 silhouette.

Subject to several material and colour reworks over the years, the latest collaborative effort of the R698 is fairly toned down in comparison, applying a premium tonal black nubuck to the shoes upper with perforations from the toe box through to the heel. The popular speckled white midsole returns on top of a gum outsole, with additional features including  reflective rope laces, triple branding on the tongue label and Trinomic branding on the heel.

To align with the celebration of record store day and adding to the shoes premium feel, the pack will arrive in a matte black box with a special, silk-screened project logo, while the shoe itself features a 3D printed USB lace jewel packed with exclusive music. To round off the release, a limited edition 12″ vinyl by producer and Trax Couture record label head chief Rushmore can be picked up on the day.

With Footpatrol situated in the heart of London’s vibrant Berwick Street of Soho, surrounded by independent record stores with a rich heritage in music, the collaboration is a fitting tribute to a day that celebrates the importance of independent stores and music on physical formats.

The Trax Couture x Footpatrol X Puma “Trax Patrol Record Store Day” pack will be available in extremely limited quantities in-store at Footpatrol on Saturday the 18th of April.

Hockey Skateboards

Seemingly out of nowhere a two-part promo has appeared online from Anthony Van Engelen and Jason Dill’s Hockey Skateboards, and along with it their first line of decks and tees have also been released.

Hockey Skateboards has been unveiled under the F.A World Entertainment umbrella as a kind of passion project away from the main line brand following the success of Fucking Awesome. After months of teasers and subtle mentions in interviews, the raw 4 minute footage featuring riders Donovan Piscopo and John Fitzgerald finally launches the brand in true F.A style with no music, little editing and great skateboarding. At this point not much else is known about the company with little promotion and little in the way of information from the video, but we are liking what we see so far and looking forward to seeing how it all pans out. Hopefully we can expect to see Hockey Skateboards hitting our shores soon.

You can view the video below and check out Hockey Skateboards inaugural release over at fuckingawesomestore.com

HUF-Canvas-Pack-2015-Lookbook (3)

HUF “Canvas Pack”

San Francisco based HUF follow up their main line Spring/Summer releases with a concise capsule collection made up of seasonal footwear and headwear staples entitled “Canvas Pack”.

Drawing inspiration from 1950’s American culture, the collection consists of headwear, footwear and light jacketing options constructed from 100% Cotton Duck Canvas. The release strips back on graphics and prints, whilst quality in the detailing is high. The Bucket Hats feature polished metal eyelets and vegan tanned leather labels, while new colour ways in the popular Classic Lo silhouette are introduced. The collection is rounded off nicely with the fitted Gas Station Jacket, which features woven patch details and a zipper slash chest pocket, really giving off the 1950’s automobile vibes. The colour way’s are kept fairly minimal throughout sticking to black, whites and reds.

The collection is captured in this clean black and white lookbook by Zach Feuerstein, aligning with the themes of the release, again referencing 1950’s Automobile culture and skateboarding. You can shop the HUF Canvas Pack over at Flatspot.com.

Vans Classic “Flamingo” Pack

Vans Classic bring us firmly into summer mode as they present the Van Doren “Flamingo” pack, made up of the Van Doren Authentic and Van Doren Old Skool silhouettes.

Having enjoyed a few days of rare British sunshine, now seems the perfect time to update the wardrobe with a Summer statement piece and the Flamingo pack offers up just that in terms of footwear. The eye catching pink and turquoise tropical pattern is inspired by the reissued prints and patterns pulled from the Vans archives over the years.  The all over flamingo print is applied to the durable canvas uppers of both the Authentic and Old Skool styles, sitting on top of a clean white midsole with accentuating black piping and Vans signature waffle outsole. Additional features include contrasting white lacing, with white side stripe branding on the Old Skool, bringing balance to the bold design.
