SOON X MR PHOMER

S.O.O.N X Mr. Phomer Capsule Collection

Two of London’s finest join forces this season, as streetwear brand S.O.O.N link up with Lisbon born, London based creative Mr. Phomer for a collaborative capsule collection.

Following a chance meeting in London and a history of unknowing confrontations with each others work, the pair finally come together to produce something that is representative of both parties DIY ideologies. The release draws inspiration from ying and yang, light and day, consisting of opposing black and white, short and long-sleeved tees.  Channeling both S.O.O.N’s and Mr. Phomer’s attitudes towards working in the creative and fashion industries within the big smoke, bold graphic prints are applied to the ‘KTGP2’ tee, which is a play on the ‘Bringing Knifes to Gun Parties’ design that first brought Mr.Phomer to S.O.O.N founder Jonny’s attention, as well as the ‘All Smiles’ long sleeve. The collection reinforces Something Out Of Nothing’s self made nature, encouraging others to use their creative talents to bring their vision to life.

Enjoy the lookbook shot by London photographer Vicky Grout above and be sure to head over to www.somethingoutofnothing.co.uk to shop the capsule, which arrives in extremely limited numbers, now.

BBC Store Marshall St-4

Billionaire Boys Club/ICE CREAM EU Flagship Store

Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream give us a glimpse into their newly launched flagship store in the heart of London’s Soho.

Following the success of the brands recent pop up ‘satellite store’ in London, their latest venture encompasses 800 square feet split over 2 levels, the first permanent space for the brand inside Europe. It was about time London had its own BBC/ICE CREAM location following the opening of the NY store back in 2007 and the Japan store more recently in 2012. Each brand has and continues to play an integral part in shaping the UK street wear scene and its only right that they celebrate that with a physical location.

The interior of the store is pretty outstanding and has been specifically designed to reflect each brands story. The space is split into 2 concepts, the first a ‘Starfield’ pattern that has become synonymous with BBC’s ‘galaxy’ aesthetic and its iconic astronaut logo, while the second half takes it back a few years with a 50’s taking the form of a vintage Ice Cream parlour.

The London flagship will also hold the latest collections from both brands as well as Billionaire Boys Club exclusive ‘LDN’ tees and caps to celebrate the store opening. The store will also see a range of EU exclusive products as well as exclusive Pharrell Williams product that includes his recent collaborative ventures with Adidas and Commes Des Garcon and the the limited edition ‘This Is Not A Toy’ book by John Wee Tom.

Brixton Spring 2015

Brixton unveil the latest visuals for their Spring 2015 collection, both of which perfectly capture the laid back aesthetic of the California based brand.

The latest instalment from Brixton is much of what we have come to expect from the brand, revisiting themes that we have seen consistently season after season to offer up a well balanced collection that gives quality in construction, muted earthy tones and relaxed styles, representing the relaxed culture of America’s west coast.

The collection ranges from the staple selection of tees, long sleeves and a vast array of headwear, to more technical cut and sew pieces in their button down shirts, comfortable chino trousers and light jacketing options. Exploring new materials and patterns, the brand holds back on loud graphic and colour applications, rather focusing on producing more timeless pieces that will look good all year round.

The brand embodies the music, people and culture that surrounds them, and they make those influences clear in their designs and more notably in their visuals. Accompanying their still imagery is a short video lookbook which features Californian brand The Rooms, again showcasing the garments and also relaying what Brixton as a lifestyle is all about. Brixton continue to stick close to their roots and what they know best, effortlessly delivering refreshing, easy to wear clothing that doesn’t cut corners in quality or fit.

The Brixton Spring 2015 collection will be available in the UK this week at the following retailers
