Stussy and Champion Link Up for Autumn/Winter Capsule

Streetwear OG’s Stussy and sportswear specialists Champion are coming together once again to deliver a strong Autumn/Winter ’16 capsule.

Much like previous Autumn/Winter collections the brands have worked on together, this drop focuses solely on outerwear, comprised of coach and baseball jackets as well as Champions signature 'Reverse Weave' equipped hoodie and crewneck. All of which are detailed with dual branding, available in a variety of monochromatic colour-ways with pops of blue and red throughout. The collection is rounded off with a special mock-neck fleece, available in both blue and black colour options.

The collection is currently available at all Stussy chapter stores, unfortunately no confirmed UK stockists as far as we can see.

Stussy x Patta AW15 Collection

Streetwear institution Stussy comes together with Amsterdam mainstay Patta this season for the pairs first fully fledged collection.

Both brands share similar values and a similar approach, though Stussy's heritage and geographical location means that it may of had a larger impact on the global streetwear scene over the years, Patta's role in todays modern movement can't be overlooked, and both can be credited with having a hand in shaping the industry as we know it. Their interests in music, art and classic sportswear, as well as their shared spirit of independence has allowed the relationship to grow strong over the years, leading to a few collaborative capsule collections along the way. As Stussy continue to celebrate 35 years of prominence in streetwear and Patta continue to build on their already hugely influential presence on the global market, the timing seemed right for the pair to put their heads together on an expanded collaborative release.

The collection is largely graphic led and keeps things fairly simple throughout, drawing inspiration from 90's sportswear and applying retro colour treatments to their designs. A majority of the collection consists of bold dual branded staples such as tees, long sleeves and sweaters, but you will also find more considered fleece sweaters and functional outerwear, again referencing 90's athletic themes. Something that both Patta and Stussy do well in their main line collections and collaborative ventures is doing the simple things well, and whenever they do look to expand in to more experimental pieces, each piece has reason behind it. Rounding off the collection is a selection of knitwear, a tracksuit and also some patch work denim, inspired by past era trends in the Netherlands that Patta has always stayed true to and contributed to it's recent resurgence through ventures such as this.

It's great to see both brands give the fans what they want, not over complicating things and putting together a well rounded collection. The Stussy x Patta Autumn/Winter release will be available to purchase at Stussy's New York location and Patta's Amsterdam store on December the 12th, and will be available at Patta retailers, Stussy Chapters and from the 18th of December.

As Carhartt WIP continue their 25th anniversary celebrations, they now look to iconic streetwear brand Stüssy to apply their creative direction to several of their iconic workwear silhouettes.

Both brands share a rich and celebrated history in streetwear, embraced by several subcultures across the years and hugely influential in the market as we know it today. The collaborative release consists of a chore jacket, lined vest, lux-zip hoodie, ruck single knee pant, bucket hat and beanie, utilising Carhartt WIP’s hard wearing material application in construction and combining this with Stüssy’s signature logo graphics, aligning with both brands values of quality and comfort. The release has been captured in this minimal editorial shot by photographer Ari Marcopoulos and styled by Tom Guinness in New York City.

Stussy Summer 2015

Stussy Summer 2015 ‘Soccer Jersey’s’

Following the success of last years NTRNTNL collection, Stussy have continued to develop their fusion of streetwear and football as they present the Team Stussy Jersey as part of their Summer 2015 collection.

Last years World Cup saw a spate of football inspired designs from several streetwear brands in celebration of the event, including Stussy who utilised some of their classic graphics and combined them with themes from on and off the pitch. Elaborating further on the idea, Stussy offer up 3 kits in black, white and blue colour ways, which include matching shorts for each top. The retro inspired jerseys arrive in long sleeve and have been constructed from a shiny polyester, reworking the USA national football teams logo which has been embroidered into the chest. Further details include Stussy sponsorship, small gold branding on the front, elasticated cuffs and a large 35 on the back to celebrate the brands 35th year anniversary.

I personally feel as though the whole football jersey thing has been a bit played out over the past year or so, with every other brand seemingly jumping on the band wagon to produce their own iteration of a famous jersey. Although this Stussy release isn’t too far from what I’ve seen before, there was something that stood out to me about the design that set it apart. Stussy have put huge attention into the detail, from the collars, the material and techniques in the design, giving each piece a really authentic retro feel. A welcome addition to my summer wardrobe for sure.

You can pick up the Stussy Soccer Jersey’s at both Urban Industry and Flatspot now.
