Vans x Dime AW16 Capsule

Almost a year to the day since Vans and Dime unveiled their popular Slip-On Pro model to the world, the pair come together once again to present a new three-piece capsule, which sees reworks of the classic Old Skool and the lesser known Fairline model.

Starting with the popular 90's silhouette, the Fairline looses some of its iconic bulky look, stripped out from the inside out and updated with performance features to help combat the rigours of today’s uncompromising action sports standards. Arriving in a "Dream Blue", the icy rework features a tonal puffy sidestripe on the side panels and custom moulded Dime logo on the tongue, with a hardwearing suede applied to the entirety of the upper. All of this sits on top of a Vans’ Pro Lite Cupsole construction and Vans’ Ultracush HD sockliner to ensure a comfortable ride. Rounding off the capsule is two clean takes of the ever popular Old Skool Pro silhouette, offered up in a 'Marshmallow White" and "Blue Nights" colour options, both pairs feature tonal branding and stark white lacing, which compliment the mid sole. All three pairs feature translucent outsoles, with Dime branding on the bottom of the Old Skools.

Bryan, Warehouse Manager of Dime had this to say on the release...

‘’We are overjoyed that the good folks at Vans let us bring back their timeless Fairlane silhouette for this project. Intense physical activity can really make your feet sweat and it’s important to stay cool. The objective here was to build the iciest kicks ever,”

The Vans x Dime AW16 Capsule will be landing at select European retailers on October 8th, including Welcome Skate Store and Slam City Skates

Odd Future and Vans Meet for Nostalgic Collab

LA hip-hop collective Odd Future are teaming up with Vans for a collaborative footwear release this season inspired by some OG artwork.

Having worked with Odd Future's frontman Tyler the Creator on several renditions of the Golf Wang Old Skool in the past, Vans come together with Tyler once again to offer up a release which is representative of the collective as a whole and pays homage to one of the most eclectic hip-hop groups of modern times. Although the majority of the group have gone on to work on their individual projects, Odd Future are still as relevant as ever having played a key role in bringing American street-wear to a mainstream UK audience when they exploded onto the scene in 2011. It’s only fitting for them to be recognised and celebrated by a brand as well respected as vans.

The collection will feature the Vans Sk8-Hi and Authentic model, both of which dressed in a bright teal canvas on the upper which is covered with the classic Odd Future donut logo as an all over print. Launching in partnership with Live Nation, each pair from the collection will arrive in a custom designed solid shoebox and will be available at selected European retailers on the 24th of this month. Vans x WTAPS AW16 Collab

Footwear OG’s Vans are turning 50 this year and luckily for us they’re celebrating by collaborating once again with street-wear giants WTAPS. The Japanese brand are also celebrating their 20th anniversary very soon, so what better way to reflect on the past than by reviving a classic look for this collab.

The drop will also include an outwear piece in the form of a military style jacket featuring the cross bone pattern as well as some printed text.

Pass~Port x Vans

Australian skate company Pass~Port have come together with Vans this season on a small collaborative collection consisting of shoes and a limited selection soft goods. In celebrating the release, the pair have also come together on a 7-minute clip featuring a mix of riders from both brands trying out some of the goods.

The collection centres around the classic Old Skool silhouette, which is offered in a dark chocolate brown and a clean off-white “marshmallow” colour way. The shoe maintains all the signature touches that has made it one of the most iconic skate silhouettes of all time, the Jazz stripe, toe and heel panels and the chunky sole unit. Pass~Port have added several premium touches to the staple style, mixing a durable hairy suede and equally as durable heavy canvas on the side panels and tongue, finished with a premium leather stripe branding. The aesthetics are completed with subtle embroidered branding on the tongue and heel, and a white Vans tab on the back of the sole. As you’d expect with every Vans style, functionality is assured with Duracap underlays in high wear areas, a built in, supportive heel counter, enhanced cushioning from Vans ‘Ultracush’ footbeds and signature grippy gum waffle tread.

Be sure to check the clip above filmed on the streets of Melbourne and Sydney, featuring Callum Paul and Nik Stipanovic, along with the rest of the Pass~Port team and Vans riders Jack Kirk, Ryan Wilson, George Kousoulis & Floyd Scott.

The Pass~Port x Vans collection is available at all good skate stores now including Welcome, Black Sheep Store and Flatspot.

Vans Introduces the Kyle Walker Pro ‘Wafflecup’

Kyle Walker is the latest pro rider from Vans' roster to be welcomed to the signature footwear ranks as they introduce the Kyle Walker Pro, featuring the brands innovative Wafflecup technology.

The last couple of years have been good to Kyle Walker, with solid parts in highly anticipated releases including Propeller and Holy Stokes!, as well as turning pro and getting his first deck for Real, he tops it off with his long awaited Pro shoe this month. Employing years of innovative technology in to a simplistic, unmistakably Vans silhouette, the Kyle Walker Pro offers durability through it's tough suede upper, while Vans signature Wafflecup technology gives support and stability along with unrivalled board feel and grip, all the right ingredients for a high performance skate shoe. Additional features include the ULTRACUSH HD impact sock-liners for added cushioning upon impact and DURACAP rubber underlays in high-wear areas so your not going through a pair every week.

Kyle Walker had this to say on his first shoe release...

“I wanted my shoe to be simple, but it’s funny because it didn’t come out simple at all—I made my insole way thicker, as well as the tongue, and with the Wafflecup sole, there’s a lot more cushioning in my shoe than today’s standard.” He continues, “I was going for comfort – it grips well, and it skates great right out the box. I’m happy with it, for sure.”

To celebrate the release of his first shoe, you can see Walker with a huge 50-50 thanks to a little help from Crispy the Wafflecup, in the video below. Arriving in four colour ways, the Vans Kyle Walker Pro is available now at select retailers including Slam City and Flatspot.
