Vans X Della Collection

Vans have linked up with socially responsible fashion company Della to raise awareness of the brands ongoing work in Africa, dedicated to empowering the women of the Volta Region of Ghana.

After joining a volunteer program in 2009, Della’s founder and Creative Director Tina Tangalakis fell in love with the region and quickly became immersed in the culture. Using her background and skill in both business and design she started up Della. Today, the company provides the opportunity to build a foundation for a better life, through jobs, education and skills training by employing over 50 women from the Ghana region, to create handcrafted textiles using sustainable materials.

The collaborative capsule collection consists of footwear and accessories for the Spring of 2014, inspired by the Batik print design process used locally in the West African country. The one-of-a-kind prints are featured on the classic Sk8-Hi reissue, Era, Authentic and the Sk8-Hi slim, as well as the two new accessory silhouettes.
