Nixon x Andrew Reynolds collection

Nixon have given skate legend Andrew Reynolds free reign on a collaborative capsule collection entitled ‘Today is a gift’, inspired by life on the road.

After picking up one of his favourite accessories on a recent team trip to Argentina, he used this as the basis for the collection, consisting of a wallet, key chain, backpack, beanie, belt. guitar strap and of course custom built watch. Nice added touches in the Nixon x Altamont hoodie and 5-panel cap, as well as a custom Baker deck compliment the release, for a well rounded selection of travel essentials.

The man himself had this to say on the release;

“To do a collection with Nixon is amazing, this is the stuff I use. When I’m on a trip, this is all I need.”

The Nixon x Andrew Reynolds collection is now available at Nixon’s Carnaby Street store and Online

HUF x Black Scale

Two of the UK’s finest street wear imports – HUF and Black Scale have come together on a collaborative capsule collection for Holiday 2014, inspired by one of mans greatest vices – gambling.

The West Coast heavyweights combine their easily identifiable aesthetics and shapes to offer up this dark collection consisting of co-branded t-shirts, hoodies, a coach jacket, headwear options, as well as accessories in socks and custom playing cards. The macabre themes that have become synonymous with Black Scales designs are reworked into playing card style graphics that are applied as back prints, while Pentagram logos have been embroidered onto snapbacks, beanies and coach jackets. The super limited collection arrives in a fairly monochrome colour palette with pops of red in the detailing.

To coincide with the release the pair organized an invite only event poker tournament earlier this month with a cash prize of $5000. You can see how the nights events unfolded in the video below.

The HUF x Black Scale Capsule Collection will be arriving in UK stores this week. You can pick your favourite piece up in-store at Chimp.

10.Deep Holiday 2014 Delivery One Lookbook “Town and Country”

10.Deep step away from the computer screens and into the great outdoors as they present their Holiday 2014 lookbook entitled “Town and Country”

Recent releases from 10.Deep have seen them draw from the tech inspired world we live in and one of the most powerful cultural influencers – the internet. Toning down the futuristic designs this season, the brand have looked down the timeline, to a time before the internet, where clothing was functional and built to last. These classic shapes would go on to set the tone for future street wear styles.

The collection is diverse with their cut and sew line taking main stage. A range of fabrics and materials including denim, cotton and mesh are used to explore different themes, from workwear to vintage hunting gear. Sportswear seems to be a continued influence on their collections, and they take inspiration from more extreme sports such as Motorcross for their latest designs.

Functionality is at the heart of this collection, with 10.Deep using their rich heritage in streetwear design to combine materials, pattern and detailing for considered, highly wearable pieces that will keep you protected from the elements.

The brands jacket and shirting options have particularly caught our eye in this release and our stand out pieces include the H14 Ranch Hand Denim Jacket in Woodland camo and Bird Dog Flannel.

The 10.Deep Holiday 2014 delivery one will be available in UK stores shortly. Be sure to check back for links!

The National Skateboard Co. x Post Details

The National Skateboard Co. and Sweden’s Post Details have announced an exciting collaborative effort for Holiday 2014.

There is some history behind this one. With Post’s founder Danjiel Stankovic riding for TNSC and Neil Smith recently announced as Post Details latest family member, they definitely aren’t strangers to one another. With both brands holding similair values and both deeply rooted in skateboarding, its great to see the two come together on a collection

The limited release continues the brands minimal approach, scaling back on the graphics throughout. A stamp inspired design is applied as back prints to tees, with similar graphics used on the accompanying decks. The heavyweight cotton coach jackets and small run of corduroy caps and knitted beanies feature embroidered dual branded logos, while the standout long sleeved polo features subtle labelling.

Colours are kept simple for this collection, using white and grey as a base, with rich navy and deep burgundy treatments giving it that seasonal feel. Each piece features high levels of detailing and the construction is second to none, utilising thick fabrics for the colder months.

The National Skateboard Co. X Post Details collaborative collection is available now at the following stores;

Butter Goods Summer 2014 Lookbook

Australian based label Butter Goods are back to give us a look at their latest offering, ready just in time for Australian Summer, with this accompanying lookbook.

As they follow up their Spring release, the brand continues to apply playful lo-fi inspired graphics and humorous tag lines, drawing from the D.I.Y 90’s punk rock aesthetic. The release is packed full of logo-centric tees and long sleeves, as well as short sleeved shirts, polo tops, bottoms and headwear options, all showcased in this gritty lookbook shot in film around the brands hometown of Perth.

It’s great to see the skater owned and operated brand gain some serious recognition worldwide.  Butter Goods draw from one of the most influential decades of modern skateboarding, at a time where street skating was taking centre stage and trends were being set and not followed. They bring that raw style and attitude from the era and apply it to their designs in the right way, with solid results.

The Butter Goods Summer 2014 collection is now available at www.buttergoods.com and Bristol’s Fifty Fifty Store.
