It’s been a while since we last linked up with our friends at Street Casuals and we couldn’t be happier to join forces again to showcase product from the awesome ONLY NY Fall/Winter 2014 drop.

We really enjoyed ONLY NY’s approach to their official lookbook, showcasing the brand in real scenarios, with a selection of natural photographs showing how the clothing would be seen at street level. With this lookbook our aim was to continue this ‘real’ look, translating it into our own environment around the streets of Brighton.

The collection itself continues the brands nostalgic approach, drawing themes from 90′s New York and applying this to vintage sportswear inspired pieces. Comprising of button-down shirts, crew-neck sweaters, rugby tops, outerwear pieces, headwear and a great selection bold graphic tees, the collection is diverse as is its colour palette.

The latest release is everything we have come to expect from the New York brand and more, and its great to see ONLY continue to develop their range. In an industry thats saturated with regurgitated graphics, ONLY always step up and bring something new. Their unique New York inspired designs and how they apply them to their premium streetwear pieces is what really sets them apart and why they continue to be one of our favourite brands here at By The Level.

Benny Gold Holiday 2014 Lookbook

 

San Francisco-based Benny Gold continue to deliver iconic graphic tees as well as expanding their ever improving cut and sew selection, in their Holiday 2014 collection.

Benny Gold’s expressive t-shirts have become the brands signature piece, applying bold designs and light-hearted tag lines, the graphic tee has been there from the start and will continue to be a huge part of the brands identity.

This seasons release is again heavily dominated by graphic tees, but Benny Gold continue to explore new possibilities within design as they grow and improve their cut and sew offerings. Premium feel button-downs, fishtail parkers and down vests amongst other items maintain the brands core aesthetic while adding another dimension to their collections. Signature touches that we have come to expect from Benny Gold such as embroidered branding and bold patterns can be found throughout.

Patta x Carhartt WIP “Wild at Hartt” Lookbook

The Patta design team put their own unique twist to a range of classic Carhartt WIP shapes in the ‘Wild At Hartt’ collaborative collection.

Celebrating the Amsterdam boutiques 10th year anniversary, Patta are teaming up with a selection of brands from across the globe that are close to their heart, including this effort with the American workwear specialists.

The concise collection features some iconic Carhartt pieces including the Classic Vest, Chore coat, hooded sweater and the ever popular Watch beanie, as well as some less familiar, but equally iconic silhouettes in the Double Knee pant. Pulling out all the stops, traditional fabrics such as the original Dearborn canvas, that has been used by Carhartt for over 125 years, as well as Hangford rigid denim have been used for a premium, robust feel. Alongside subtle dual branded patches, the ‘Wild at Hartt’ graphics have been applied as back prints to the hooded sweater and vest giving the workwear pieces a streetwear twist.

Patta is one of the most sought after brands of the moment and is renowned worldwide as one of the top sneaker stores. Its great to see how they continue to develop their in-house apparel range, moving into new territory and introducing new styles and designs. Carhartt’s rich heritage aligns with Patta’s dedication to producing quality apparel, and with considered fits, materials and cuts, the result is a solid collection of street ready pieces.

The Patta x Carhartt WIP collaborative collection will be available at selected Carhartt WIP stores and Patta from the 4th of December. To celebrate the release, Goodhood will throwing an in-store launch event, followed by an after party courtesy of TAX-FREE.

ASICS Special Edition Christmas Pack – UK release.

 

With Christmas just around the corner, Japanese footwear specialists Asics get nice and festive with their special edition Christmas Pack.

Keeping in with last years Holiday release, Asics are making it a bit of a tradition as they apply similar colour treatments to two Gel Saga silhouettes and the ever popular Gel Lyte III shape.

The first Gel Saga takes cues from Santa himself with a predominantly red upper broken up with a beige toe box and black branding on the stripes to represent St.Nick’s belt. The second Saga features a rich green on the upper, with tonal laces and a charcoal grey colour block at the front of the shoe, while the red branding completes the Christmas Tree feel.

Rounding off the pack is the snowman-inspired Gel Lyte III, with frosty greys gracing the upper and contrasting ‘carrot’ colour laces and a snow flake splattered sock liner. Each shoe is constructed from a synthetic nubuck and PU leather, featuring an icy white sole that is packed with Asics comfort enhancing Gel Technology.

We’ve been eagerly anticipating Asics festive efforts this year and they definitely haven’t disappointed.  Having sensibly avoided the garish Christmas jumper look, the pack features a trio of highly wearable, festive kicks. The use of colour and the application of the popular toe box colour block has been executed to great effect, and if anything enhanced the already popular silhouettes.

Butter Goods Summer 2014 Lookbook

 

Australian based label Butter Goods are back to give us a look at their latest offering, ready just in time for Australian Summer, with this accompanying lookbook.

As they follow up their Spring release, the brand continues to apply playful lo-fi inspired graphics and humorous tag lines, drawing from the D.I.Y 90’s punk rock aesthetic. The release is packed full of logo-centric tees and long sleeves, as well as short sleeved shirts, polo tops, bottoms and headwear options, all showcased in this gritty lookbook shot in film around the brands hometown of Perth.

It’s great to see the skater owned and operated brand gain some serious recognition worldwide.  Butter Goods draw from one of the most influential decades of modern skateboarding, at a time where street skating was taking centre stage and trends were being set and not followed. They bring that raw style and attitude from the era and apply it to their designs in the right way, with solid results.

PUMA R698 ‘Snow Splatter’ Pack

 

Following the release of the XT2+ Snow Splatter pack back in September, PUMA return with more wintery vibes as they apply the unique snow inspired design to their R698 silhouette.

The classic runner has been subject to numerous colour reworks, as well as being the focus of several collaborations thanks to it’s popular low profile design. Its comfort enhancing Trinomic technology and distinctive aesthetic has seen the shoe move from the track to the streets and become a favourite with sneaker fans worldwide. This season, the R698 gets a winter release under PUMA’s Cream programme. PUMA apply nylon to the upper with nubuck overlays and a heavy tumbled leather for a premium yet robust finish. The three ‘icy’ colour ways reference the colder winter months, arriving in black and white with distinctive speckled heel and toe detailing.
