Aries Arise

Our latest feature centres around London based unisex brand Aries, and their latest set of graphic heavy wears.

Aries was created by Sofia Prantera & Fergus Purcell back in 2012, following spells working alongside high profile brands such as Slam City, designing for Palace, and conceiving cult labels such as Silas. Aries is the product of these experiences combined with a desire to create something that embodies their own view on ‘street wear, anti-fashion youth movements and trash culture’. In aiming to reconcile their love for the genre, Aries became a physical representation of Sofia’s inspirations and influences, using the brand as a vessel for her own unique vision. Through hands-on processes such as hand dyeing, screen printing, cutting and ripping, Aries have establish a unique and refreshing look which embraces it’s imperfections to echo styles from 90’s DIY culture and bring back that sense of rebellion that was once such an integral part of streetwear.

We aimed to highlight the eroding barriers between mens and woman fashion, showing that streetwear – whether its aimed at men or woman, can be enjoyed and worn by whoever.

Karhu x Patta Synchron Classic

As classic Finish running brand KARHU continue to celebrate 100 years in providing quality performance footwear, they come together with world renowned, Amsterdam institution Patta on a special collaborative release.

The brands Synchron silhouette, which debuted back in the early 80's, is at the centre of the release, receiving a premium update for the holiday season. The style is renowned for its unique lacing system and robust construction which references functional outerwear in its design mixed with an athletic shape built for running. The upper has been reworked with a forest green nubuck suede on the upper which is mixed with a durable camel coloured mesh for breathability. A pigskin leather lining adds to the premium feel of the shoe while subtle 3M reflective detailing adds functionality. Additional features include embroidered Patta and KARHU branding on the heel, as well as dual branded tags on the tongue.

Each pair sold at Patta's Amsterdam and London locations will be accompanied by a packable runner jacket made exclusively for the launch of the special release. The jacket has been constructed from a taffeta material and features a water repellent layer, as well as mesh lining and 3M dual branding on the chest

Stüssy x Converse One Star ’74

Stüssy cap off a year filled with high profile collaborative projects with yet another huge release, coming together with Converse once again, this time to rework the One Star '74 silhouette.

As Stüssy continue to commemorate 35 years in the game, the classic style has been updated with a rough hairy suede on the upper, with subtle debossed Star Chevron branding on the side panels and tonal lacing for a simplistic yet premium look. Each pair sits atop of a black sole unit, while the individual colour ways bear emblems related to the brands history - including the crown, dice and eight ball designs, alongside the iconic signature logo which have been embroidered on to each different pair. Final touches include a custom Stüssy graphic on the insole and the link logo also makes it in to the design underneath the translucent outsole.

Arriving in Mauve Mist, Black and Hunter Green colour options, the Stüssy x Converse One Star '74 collection will be available from select retailers including Goodhood on Friday the 2nd of December.

5BORO x Gabriel Alcala

NY skate institution 5Boro have unveiled the latest instalment in their popular artist series deck collections, this time collaborating with Miami artist Gabriel Alcala. The series features 6 decks for riders including Willy Akers, Jordan Trahan, Rob Gonyon, Danny Falla, Jimmy McDonald and Silvester “Doogie” Eduardo, with each board decorated in a different vibrant colour way and bearing Alcala's simplistic drawings. The 5Boro x Gabriel Alcala deck series is available now over at 5boronyc.com and will be available from select UK retailers shortly.

Seemingly out of nowhere, Vans and Thrasher have combined to drop a brand new full length video dubbed “No Other Way” and of course it’s a banger! Centred on two SOTY nominees – Elijah Berle and Kyle Walker, the video also features cameos from the Vans elite including AVE, Chima Ferguson, Daniel Lutheran, Daan van der Linden, Andrew Allen and more.

adidas Skateboarding – Busenitz Pro 10-Year Edition Pack

adidas Skateboarding and Dennis Busenitz continue to commemorate their 10 year milestone together by unveiling the third and final instalment of their 10-year edition Busenitz Pro series. The latest iteration of the popular silhouette arrives in it's original shape with a clean crème leather applied to the upper, complimented with tonal white stitching throughout and stark white lacing. The crème is contrasted with a light beige suede on the three-stripes and heel panel, as well as a custom gold 'Busenitz' tag, embroidered gold adidas branding on the tongue and "06" and "16" stitched on to the heel to signify the 10 year partnership. These robust, premium look uppers sit on top of a contrasting brown gum cupsole and the shoe is finished with a custom '10 year anniversary' graphic on the insole.

The adidas Skateboarding Busenitz Pro 10-year edition will begin to arrive in stores worldwide from November 28th so expect to see them in your favourite skate shop soon. You can now watch adidas Skateboarding’s Away Days in all it’s glory online ! The first full length from the brand is widely considered one of the video’s of 2016, as it celebrates the creativity and chemistry shared between one of the most exciting teams on the planet.

The project, directed by Matt Irving, spanned 3 years and was shot in over 100 cities across the globe featuring riders Mark Gonzales, Dennis Busenitz, Silas Baxter-Neal, Lucas Puig, Rodrigo TX, Mark Suciu, Pete Eldridge, Benny Fairfax, Nestor Judkins, Jake Donnelly, Lem Villemin, Jack Fardell, Alec Majerus, Miles Silvas, Na-kel Smith & Tyshawn Jones, as well as international team riders: Chewy Cannon, Raul Navarro, Günes Özdogan, Klaus Bohms, Kevin Lowry, Dennis, Durrant & Gustav Tønnesen.
