Stanton Street Sports Editorial

Autosave-File vom d-lab2/3 der AgfaPhoto GmbH

We recentley linked up with New York’s Stanton Street Sports to shoot a concise editorial focused around their latest release for Summer 2016.

Launched earlier this year, Stanton Street Sports was born as an in-house brand to ONLY NY – named after the brands New York flagship store location. Despite sharing some similarities to it’s parent brand, Stanton Street Sports has managed to carve out it’s own identity as a stand alone brand with a strong direction and solid designs. Now available in select stockists over in the UK, SSS focus on extremley limited quantities, with many of their products made as one offs, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Their latest collection for Summer is heavily graphic lead, with an early 90’s sportswear feel to it, deploying a bright, seasonal colour palette on to a range of t-shirt designs. Again we see parallels with ONLY NY through NY inspired designs which draw from themes around the city and the various subcultures within it. Rounding off the concise release is a collaborative hoody with Champion, featuring the classic collegiate font on the front as well as three hat designs, which again feel retro inspired with subtle embroidered or patchwork detailing on classic shapes.

ONLY NYC SUMMER 1

ONLY NY & The City of New York SS16 Lookbook

ONLY NY have come together with the City of New York for the second time on a collaborative release for Spring/Summer, featuring several staple designs inspired by official logo's and graphics from the Big Apple.

When I think of New York streetwear, aside from the grittier names like ALIFE, ONLY NY stand out as one who perfectly represents what the city is about, especially the more light-hearted and artistic side. The brand draws inspiration from a number of themes, from skateboarding t0 graffiti, but everything they do has an NY feel to it, from the shapes of the garments to the city logo's they have reworked in their designs. Their latest collaborative project sees them take their affiliation to New York one step further as they literally team up with the city itself on a diverse release. Comprised of tees, long-sleeves, hoodies, caps, shorts and accessories which include a skate deck, the collection is heavily graphic lead incorporating logos from various city programs such as the "NYC Parks" and “City of New York” logos.

Supreme Fall/Winter 2015

Time for the internet to go into meltdown once again as Supreme unveil their latest collection for Fall/Winter 2015 in this lookbook featuring team rider Sage Elsesser.

The coveted skate/streetwear imprint continues to develop their staple designs as well as introducing several new experimental styles that perhaps pull away from the brands renowned ‘streetwear’ aesthetic, drawing subtle influences from a variety of subcultures throughout. I always find myself struggling for words to write about Supreme releases as in the most part, the scale and quality speaks for itself. You know that you’re going to get originality, you know theres going to be the hugely popular box logo design worked in somewhere and you know that the collection will be met with mixed reactions, despite selling out in no time. Unfortunately for most, your favourite piece might be out of reach and unless you’re super quick or super lucky, you will struggle to get hold of the most wanted styles from the collection. Regardless, this collection is too good not to share as Supreme give us another reminder as to why its considered one of the most desirable brands on the planet.

The simplistic lookbook highlights 23 different looks, pulling key styles from the comprehensive range. The outerwear selection takes centre stage with a diverse selection of silhouettes and stand out pieces including the ‘Justice For All’ fishtail parka, embroidered pull over anoraks with tonal branding and the colour blocked hooded jacket. The expected graphic tees, box logo sweaters and flannel shirting bulk out the release, sitting alongside some of the more interesting pieces in the quarter zip pullovers, argyle knits, minimal turtle neck tops and white full length dungarees. The collection is rounded off with a healthy selection of headwear that utilises several logo designs and a variety of premium materials. To accompany the mainline release, the Fall/Winter collection also sees new offerings from regular collaborators including Champion, Playboy and Schott NYC, as well as an imaginative array of accessories from skate hardware to crowbars.

The Supreme Fall/Winter 2015 collection will be arriving at the brands London, NY and LA locations on the 20th of August, and will be available online as the webstore reopens on August 27th.

Belief Summer '15 Lookbook

Belief Summer 2015 Lookbook

Our friends over at Belief have dropped this strong set of visuals to showcase key pieces from their Summer 2015 offering.

Teaming up with hugely talented photographer Derek Wood, the New York city natives head out to the great outdoors to capture the latest apparel styles against the natural backdrop. Throughout their previous releases, Belief have consistently delivered easy to wear styles that draw inspiration from classic street war silhouettes and reference the brands rich skateboarding heritage. Incorporating playful themes and a vibrant colour palette, the Summer release from Belief consists of simplistic graphic based tees, long sleeves, hoodies and a varied selection of caps. They have also expanded their cut and sew offering with mesh basketball jerseys, beach shorts and light outerwear options in the stand out windbreakers which feature nice added touches in the zip compass and patchwork logos.

There is a bit of a 90’s NY sportswear feel to the release, with vintage washes and material applications complimented with bold retro inspired graphics. The release is distinctively Belief and is much of what we have come to expect from the brand, sticking to their roots but continuing to develop and better their line every season.

Quartersnacks present “56 Tricks”

Beginning with a revisit to one of the brands personal favourites – “Ragers Inc“- Quartersnacks came up with the idea to recreate one of the ‘greatest iPhone video of all-time’ for 2015 in this clip dubbed “56 Tricks”. Despite not turning out quite how they would of liked, they still managed to put together this solid montage following riders Torey Goodhall, Hjalte Halberg and some other familiar faces as they travelled across the pond to hit up three key European cities – Copenhagen, Malmö and Berlin.

ONLY NY SS15 at Urban Industry – Lookbook

Only_01

Following up on our Dickies SS15 lookbook from earlier this season, we have once again worked closely with the guys at Urban Industry to produce this short editorial showcasing the latest from New York staple ONLY NY.

To us, the team at ONLY NY perfectly capture the nature of New York streetwear and represent an integral part of the cities youth culture. They draw inspiration from the landscape and their surroundings, incorporating sportswear themes to build a relaxed range of street ready clothing with quality in mind. Rather than taking the clothing away from the obvious themes, for this shoot we stuck closely to the metropolis vibe of the brand, shooting it against a city backdrop in North West London.

As for the release, ONLY NY continue to develop their range while aligning with the brands renowned aesthetic. With strong graphic pieces, a subtle colour palette and vintage sportswear informed designs, the Spring/Summer 2015 collection is another solid release from the New Yorker’s. The brands t-shirt selection in particular stands out this season, introducing new material applications and colour block treatments, giving a greater variety and more of a premium feel in places.

You can shop the full ONLY NY range at Urban Industry HERE.
