Brixton Spring 2015

Brixton unveil the latest visuals for their Spring 2015 collection, both of which perfectly capture the laid back aesthetic of the California based brand.

The latest instalment from Brixton is much of what we have come to expect from the brand, revisiting themes that we have seen consistently season after season to offer up a well balanced collection that gives quality in construction, muted earthy tones and relaxed styles, representing the relaxed culture of America’s west coast.

The collection ranges from the staple selection of tees, long sleeves and a vast array of headwear, to more technical cut and sew pieces in their button down shirts, comfortable chino trousers and light jacketing options. Exploring new materials and patterns, the brand holds back on loud graphic and colour applications, rather focusing on producing more timeless pieces that will look good all year round.

The brand embodies the music, people and culture that surrounds them, and they make those influences clear in their designs and more notably in their visuals. Accompanying their still imagery is a short video lookbook which features Californian brand The Rooms, again showcasing the garments and also relaying what Brixton as a lifestyle is all about. Brixton continue to stick close to their roots and what they know best, effortlessly delivering refreshing, easy to wear clothing that doesn’t cut corners in quality or fit.

The Brixton Spring 2015 collection will be available in the UK this week at the following retailers

FUTUR Spring/Summer 2015

Following up their debut release from last season, cryptic European skate brand FUTUR present their latest offering for Spring 2015 entitled “Season O (refill)”

For many brands it takes years to build up the knowledge and experience to produce collections with certain levels of detail in their construction, quality in the design and conviction in their visuals. It seems as though FUTUR have bypassed these stages in their development, coming straight out of the blocks with considered, quality clothing and offer up something that is simplistic yet accomplished through their clean graphics and considered designs. Their latest release gives us a bit of a top up, hence the (refill), and follows on from their inaugural collection, with some familiar pieces making an appearance, as well as some new introductions. By large the latest release sticks to the theme of ‘Season 0″, all the way down to the colour treatments.

For this season, FUTUR have called upon the services of photographer Felix Schaper to capture the release around the brands Saint Honoré studio, with Parisian skater Benoit Renaux on modelling duties. The collection is comprised of  short and long sleeved tees, that utilise colour blocking on the arms as well as clean illustrative prints from artist Steven Burke as back pieces. The release is rounded off with a small selection of US made caps, all of which stick to the colour palette of Navy and White.

The FUTUR Spring 2015 collection is available now at Footpatrol.

The Hundreds Spring 2015

The Hundreds Spring 2015 Lookbook

LA streetwear giants The Hundreds decide to take a slightly different direction for their Spring 2015 collection, avoiding the more thematic approach to deliver a mature release for the season.

The collection sees the brand reconnect with its roots, fusing Californian workwear styles with elements of streetwear, focusing in on construction and quality of the garments throughout.  Alongside considered graphics and a mixture of traditional and technical fabrications, The Hundreds have also added in 3 custom prints – the ‘Era Camo’ which is a revamp of the classic woodland camo, the marijuana inspired ‘Crazin’ print and finally the ‘Constellation’ print which pays homage to the mountains of Santa Fe.  The Spring release also sees the second season of the brands nano-technology that repels dirt, water and oil without adding weight or taking away from the colour or feel of the garment.

As a fan of The Hundreds, its great to see the brand continue to grow with their customer. Heavy branding and bold graphics have become a thing of the past, and they have recognised that. The focus the brand is putting on the finish and detailing is delivering great results, as well as maintaining elements that we’ve come to love about The Hundreds.

The Hundreds Spring 2015 collection will be available at UK stockists including Urban Industry and 5Pointz from the 23rd of February.

Supreme Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook

Following news that the brands creative director Brendon Babenzien is set to leave to restart ‘Noah’, Supreme drop the visuals for their highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2015 release.

Once again, Supreme draw influence from a range of different themes including vintage sportswear, traditional Japanese designs and military styles for the latest release. The collection sees various prints and patterns applied to several unique, considered styles, with a strong selection of outerwear taking centre stage. There is also custom artwork from the likes of Daniel Johnston and stand out pieces such as the all over Malcolm X photo print Baseball Jersey; each of which represent the bolder items of the collection. Each piece offers up something completely different, and thats where Supreme excel. Amongst the bolder pieces there are more simplified items that utilise the brands iconic logo designs as well as new takes on the type.

Despite drawing from a number of subjects, Supreme always stays true to and representative of the NY skate scene. It’s ability to take inspiration from different cultures and turn it into some very New York is reflective of the city. Whether you are a fan of the clothing or not, it’s hard to deny that the brand continues to push the boundaries of design and style, season after season they continue to have people across the globe battling to get their hands on a piece.

The Supreme Spring/Summer 2015 collection will be available at the brands London store from Thursday the 19th of January and online at www.supremenewyork.com from the 26th of January.

Billionaire Boys Club Spring 15

Billionaire Boys Club link up with regular collaborator Dexter Navy once again to present this video look book, highlighting key styles from the brands Spring 2015 range.

2014 was a succesful year for the London based creative who was responsible for A$AP Rocky’s ‘Chevy’ video and was also hailed by Complex as one of their ‘30 Under 30 Photographers to Watch’. His latest project sees him return to his hometown back to where it all started and the focus is kept firmly on the UK, from the choice of models to the styling. The aim was to create a ‘seamless presentation’ to showcase the offerings, and the rotating camera achieves this against an empty warehouse backdrop. Throughout the video we catch glimpses of the collection as the models move continually with the camera as it circumnavigates to the soundtrack of “I’m Ready” by British Hip-Hop group Caveman.

From what we can see from the short video, there is a strong selection of cut and sew pieces, most notably in the shirting options, outerwear and the panelled hoodies and sweaters. The colour palette mixes vibrant and more muted tones, with a range of patterns, patchwork and bold graphic prints applied throughout.
