Neighbourhood Mitch

Neighbourhood: Mitch

As we continue to document the Brighton skate scene and celebrate the characters around it, our Neighbourhood series returns with a brand new clip featuring Mitch, a recent departure from the streets of Brighton who now resides in Norway. We were lucky enough to film the clip at the newly built Gamlebyen skatepark in East Oslo…

“I hit up Mitch to film this clip, because he’s a Brighton transplant in Oslo. Gamlebyen where he lives, has just had the first section of it’s skatepark completed, so ideas were fresh on the new concrete, but we grossly underestimated the struggles of filming any kind of skateboarding in winter in Norway. The park was always wet, even when it hadn’t rained for a week, then the frost and snow came and it seemed like we were never going to be able to finish filming. Luckily after a few evenings praying to Thor & Odin last week, there was somehow one mostly dry day and we got to get one last session in. Mitch is honestly one of the most fun people to skate with that I’ve ever met, so getting to film this was a total pleasure in spite of the Nordic weather. Love you Mitch !!” – Sirus

Magenta Skateboards SS16 “AIME” Lookbook

Magenta have come through with a slightly unexpected, yet more than welcome, cut & sew line dubbed "AIME" ready for Spring/Summer 2016.

Although its been a theme for more and more skate brands to try their hand at cut & sew of late, there's not many who have produced something as far removed from their main line and as well executed in the way that Magenta have in this collection. It's apparent that every aspect of design, from the cut, the colour palette and even down to the visuals have been considered, giving the line a strong identity of its own, one that represents quality clothing for those who prefer something slightly more formal than the staple graphic tee. There's definitely a French sensibility towards their design as well. The collection features light weight linen button-up shirts and linen pants in various earthy colour treatments, a very European take on smart/causal wear. Washed out burgundy, navy, black and off-white make up the colour palette for the rest of the release in which we see lightweight chore jackets, fitted long-sleeve t-shirts and polo shirts, rounded off with a selection of accessories which includes a practical messenger bag.

The Magenta Skateboards "AIME" collection is set to hit retailers in February of next year so be sure to keep an eye on their social for updates. For now enjoy the lookbook above and head over to their site to shop their current range.

Hélas Caps “Since Tomorrow” F/W 3015/3016 Collection

Hélas Caps return this season with their “Since Tomorrow” Fall/Winter 3015/3016 collection, expanding the brands outerwear line for the colder months.

Headed up by one of modern skateboardings biggest names, Lucas Puig’s Hélas is one of the more refreshing brands on the market, drawing from numerous influences to deliver an overtly French take on casual skate/streetwear. Their latest release sees Hélas stick to their guns, as they have done season to season, naturally developing their line from once being heavily headwear focused to introducing various new apparel styles. Combining themes from 90’s sports wear with inspiration from high end design, the release features staple graphic tees, hoodies, sweaters, and more technical outerwear in the colour blocked pullover hooded jackets with matching tracksuit bottoms. The collection is rounded off by a considered range of headwear, utilising various materials and applying familiar embroidered logo detailing.

The Hélas Caps “Since Tomorrow” F/W 3015/3016 Collection is available now at select retailers across the UK including Flatspot, Urban Industry and Slam City Skates
