adidas Skateboarding present the ‘Lucas Premiere ADV’

Following up on his Away Day's opener, adidas Skateboarding have released a new signature shoe from Lucas Puig dubbed the 'Lucas Premiere ADV'.

As one of the most celebrated street skaters of all time, it's no surprise that the shoe has been highly anticipated and that hype has been helped along by a solid part from adidas' first full length video. Working closely with Puig, adidas Skateboarding have produced a shoe that compliments his style both on and off the board, as well as being able to deal with the rigours of skating street and protect your feet at the same time.

The low profile silhouette has been constructed with durability and comfort in mind, with a synthetic woven mix on the tongue and back panels, reinforced with a perforated suede at the front of the shoe, which itself is backed up with an adiTUFF reinforced toe for extra protection and abrasion resistance. The upper is dressed in a white and soft grey colour way, accented with hits of salmon pink on the tongue and heel, all of which sits on top of a gum sole unit.

The adidas Skateboarding Lucas Premiere ADV will be dropping in stores on July the 1st. Head to www.adidas.co.uk for more

Welcome Skateboards x adidas Skateboarding

adidas Skateboarding continue to tap some of the best names in skateboarding for their collaborative ventures. Having linked up with Alltimers for a special release last season, they follow up with a second capsule collection with Cali's Welcome Skateboards.

The latest release sticks to similar themes from last years collection, again featuring a custom 'soccer' jersey, which this time around arrives in a simplistic white and black colour option, donning Welcome's signature graphics on the badge, sponsorship and back print. The Matchcourt Mid becomes the latest adi silhouette to get the Welcome treatment, arriving in a 'Seafoam Blue' colour way, the shoe features a durable premium suede on the upper which has been reinforced with a tonal rubber toe cap. The Mid shape offers slightly more protection around the ankle and the molded sock-liner locks the foot in place to avoid slippage. The design is rounded off with black accents on the three stripe's, lacing and branding on the tongue and heel, all of which sits on top of a crisp white sole unit and semi-translucent gum outsole.

Welcome founder Jason Celaya had this to say on the partnership;

"I am a proponent of the evolution of both my personal life and my company, however, there are a few things in my life that are constants. Along with skateboarding and art, one of those constants has been adidas. Probably ever since the mid ’80s I have worn Adidas as my skate shoes and my date shoes."

The Welcome Skateboards x adidas Skateboarding capsule collection is set to drop online and select retailers from the beginning of May. Be sure to keep your eyes on social pages for updates on the drop!

Alltimers x adidas Skateboarding

New York natives Alltimers celebrate the good life in their latest collaborative effort with adidas Skateboarding.

The limited-edition release consists of vintage sportswear inspired apparel, including a track jacket reminiscent of those worn during the Boston Marathon back in the 80's, some bold mesh-lined football shorts and a dual-branded tee. Rounding off the small capsule is a re-worked Superstar Vulc, which draws design cues from the "The Hogan", a casual 80's silhouette. The shoe has been constructed from a full grain white leather uppers and hairy suede panelling on the side panel and heel, finished with dark blue stripe detailing and a gold foil league player print on the lateral side of the shoe, all of which compliments the apparel selection.

To commemorate the release, Alltimers have come through with some truly inspiring visuals to showcase the goods and show you how they're living. Unfortunately there's no UK retailers as far as I can see, but you can pick up the goods at Copenhagen's Street Machine.

adidas Skateboarding drops the Superstar ADV

adidas’ Skateboarding department unveil the Superstar ADV with this clip featuring members of the brands expansive skate team.

In celebration of the classic 90’s silhouette’s skate reincarnation, adidas have put together a short promo clip featuring riders Tyshawn Jones, Chewy Cannon, Benny Fairfax, Jake Donnelly, Dennis Busenitz, Raul Navarro, Nak-el Smith and Miles Silvas exploring spots in Miami and NYC in the shoes.

The shoe itself doesn’t stray too far from the original silhouette. The iconic shell toe and three stripes on the side panels remain, but it has received a few subtle tweaks and modern performance updates to re-engineer and enhance the shoe for skate purposes. The Superstar in its first form was adopted by skateboarders in the early 90’s thanks to its protective rubber shell toe and flat sole, and because of that, just like Nike’s Dunk and Puma’s Suede silhouettes, they played an integral part of that decades skateboarding scene. Perhaps the most notable difference in the new adidas Superstar ADV is it’s weight, with a lighter, less bulky construction on the leather upper which also sees the three stripe branding streamlined on the quarter panels. Cushioning and comfort is important in any skate shoe, and the added drop-in ADIPRENE sock-liner protects the foot upon impact, while the Vector Traction outsole provides enhance grip on the board.

Get a closer look at the new silhouette in the video below and imagery above. The adidas Skateboarding Superstar ADV is available now at www.adidas.com and will be arriving in all good UK skate stores shortly (check back for links).

Welcome Skateboards x Adidas Skateboarding “A-League” Capsule

The adidas Skateboarding department have announced their latest collaborative venture as they add Cali’s Welcome Skateboards to the ‘A-League’ with a concise capsule collection.

Having previously worked with the likes of Magenta, Helas and Streetmachine on collaborative releases, adidas now look to Welcome to put their unique stamp on some of the brands staple silhouettes in a football inspired release. Welcome Skateboards are renowned for doing things slightly different to the rest of the pack, with their unorthodox designs and non-conformist approach, they have gained a huge cult following which has seen their boards become some of the most popular on the market.

For the “A-League” capsule, the limited edition CLIMALITE® jersey has been reworked to feature both brands logo designs embroidered on the front and Welcome’s type logo on the back. The classic Adi-Ease silhouette receives an ADV upgrade, arriving in a premium stone coloured full suede on the upper, black leather 3 stripe branding and aqua blue colouring on the stitching and tongue label. Sitting on top of a clean white midsole, the shoe is completed with contrasting black lacing, leather heel panelling, custom insole featuring one of Welcome’s signature graphics and a coffin shaped tongue that is a nod to Welcome’s oddly shaped boards.

To commemorate the release, Welcome have also put together a short edit featuring riders Daniel Vargas, Brandon Perelson and Mark McCoy skating through Tijuana and San Diego. Check it out below…

The Welcome Skateboards x adidas Skateboarding “A-League” capsule will be available online at all good skate stores from the 1st of September.
