COPSON Spring/Summer 2015

London based Copson go above and beyond for their latest release, as they present a dreamy set of visuals to capture the brands Spring/Summer 2015 offering in the “A Young Summers Heart” short film and accompanying “Saverio Dream” lookbook.

The video component, A Young Summers Heart, was filmed by Brazilian-Italian director Romano Pizzichini of Palmeira Pictures and produced by the brands founder and former pro skateboarder Maria Falbo. The short film follows an optimistic skater, played by Danish skateboarder Villads Larsen, as he looks to escape the troubles of his home city and carve out a peaceful life in the quiet Italian town of San Morello. Following his struggle to adapt to the language and deal with his girlfriends grumpy father, Larsen finds his happiness in skateboarding and pizza, some of the delights the town has to offer. With no explanation as to why he’s there, the video leaves a lot to the imagination, allowing you to interpret his story yourself.

The complimenting lookbook shot by Lydia Garnett gives us a closer look at the ‘Saverio Dream’ collection, as she utilises the scenic backdrop from the video’s location in Calabria, Italy. Incorporating elements of the beachside town into the visuals, the collection draws from 50’s-60’s american poolside vibes, applying simplistic designs and colour palette to skate ready silhouettes, which include printed coach jackets, graphic tees, long sleeves and hoodies. The laid back open collar cocktail shirts are our top picks from the collection, which feature custom prints from artist and skater Jamie Humphrey.

HUF x Bronze56K Lookbook

HUF link up with in-demand New York skate crew Bronze56k on a limited capsule collection this season, made up of co-branded footwear and accessories.

Hot on the heels of Bronze’s hugely popular collab with London skate giants Palace, they now link up with San Fran juggernauts HUF on a small release that references themes from late 90’s and early 2000’s pop culture. Bronze56K have gained a large cult following from their lo-fi videos that have led the way for many other companies who have followed suit since, but Bronze have stood out with their unique aesthetic, paying homage to the dial up internet and cable TV era, that can be seen in edits such as Solo Jazz, Enron, and Trust.

The limited edition collection is made up of co-branded socks and a rework of HUF’s Classic Hi silhouette in a white suede with Bronze’s Microsoft inspired logo on the heel detailing. The lookbook above, shot by Brian Kelley, captures Bronze team riders Richie Rizzo and Josh Wilson shredding low lit city streets of New York City in the Classic Hi’s, wearing promo-only tees and hats bearing a playful rework of the Polo Sport logo with an added Bolt instead of the famous Polo stick.

The HUF x Bronze56K goes on sale tomorrow, the 30th of June, at select retailers including Flatspot. and at Manchester’s Note Shop.

HUF and Bronze56K also worked on a short edit to commemorate the release, which features team riders Dick Rizzo and Josh Wilson shred the streets of New York in the co-branded Classic Hi’s. Enjoy the full video below shot by Bronze co-founder and videographer Peter Sidlauskas.

KR3W Summer 2015 Lookbook

KR3W continue to develop their range with another considered release for the Summer, captured in this accompanying lookbook from photographer Cameron Strand.

The Cali based brand headed to the decaying streets of Las Gaviotas, Mexico for their latest set of visuals which showcase an array of dark graphic tees, vests and short sleeve shirts, as well as highlights from their chino offerings and a varied headwear selection. Utilising a fairly monochrome colour palette throughout with pops of blues and yellows, a small capsule collection entitled ‘BLK Flag’ sits alongside the mainline release consisting of a shirt, shorts, vest and trucker cap, each adorning a custom flag logo.

The last year has seen a lot of evolving and developing for KR3W and its much of the same for their latest effort. While they are careful to respect their skateboarding heritage and the diverse themes that have made the brand so popular over the years, there is maturity in their designs, which they have garnered from over 10 years of experience in the market.

Check out the full lookbook above. You can shop the KR3W Summer 2015 collection at Slam City, Flatspot and Route One

StreetX Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook

Australian retailer StreetX present this nocturnal lookbook for Spring/Summer 2015, showcasing the latest from their in-house collection.

For those that aren’t that clued up on the brand, StreetX began back in 2011, originally founded as an online web store selling a range of carefully selected independent brands, with the concept for the branding and the stores name inspired by a new stock exchange market – Chi-X. Quickly gathering momentum, StreetX soon became a recognised name on the streetwear scene in Australia with the arrival of their first physical store and their own label picking up interest overseas, following collaborations with the likes of aNYthing and Raised By Wolves. StreetX plays a huge role in the movement over in Australia that is seeing more and more brands from the region with a strong sense of direction and unique aesthetic, and because of these attributes they are causing a stir on a global scale.

For their latest collection, StreetX have incorporated their familiar Aussie beach themes into their designs while also looking to Old Blighty for inspiration, applying the famous Lion from the 3 lions logo as a back print. Heavily graphic based throughout, the release consists of tees, long sleeves, socks and a solid headwear collection to sit next to cut and sew pieces in the shorts and jacketing options. The palette is kept simple throughout with just enough pop of colour to make the pieces summer ready and highly wearable.

You can pick up the latest from StreetX over at Urban Industry now.

’47 Brand X Black Fives Launch First UK Pop Up Store

In celebration of the brands collaborative collection with the historic Black Fives Foundation, American sports lifestyle stalwarts ’47 Brand have opened their first UK pop up store at East London’s Truman Brewery.

The collection pays homage to each brands rich heritage in America’s sporting history. Honouring and celebrating the early African-American pioneers of Basketball, the collection draws inspiration from the original ‘Black Five’ era teams and also the integration of the National Basketball Association in 1950’s America. The release consists of an array of headwear, apparel and pennants that feature historically accurate logo’s of the original African American teams that have been embroidered into the pieces, all of which pulled from the archive of the Black Five Foundation.

There is plenty of scope for future work together from the two camps, with vintage jersey’s and jackets untouched in this release. Both parties ideologies work well together, with the collaboration lending to each others heritage and amplifying each others message, and most importantly acting as a platform to teach a more youthful audience of an important period and movement in America’s history. The 47 Brand x Black Fives pop-up store will bring the whole experience to life for the British public and will be open up until the 21st of June. The store features all product from the ’47 Brand x Black Fives collaborative collection, which will be available to purchase in store as well as online at www.47brand.co.uk. Learn more on the Black Fives Foundation HERE.

ONLY NY SS15 at Urban Industry – Lookbook

Only_01

Following up on our Dickies SS15 lookbook from earlier this season, we have once again worked closely with the guys at Urban Industry to produce this short editorial showcasing the latest from New York staple ONLY NY.

To us, the team at ONLY NY perfectly capture the nature of New York streetwear and represent an integral part of the cities youth culture. They draw inspiration from the landscape and their surroundings, incorporating sportswear themes to build a relaxed range of street ready clothing with quality in mind. Rather than taking the clothing away from the obvious themes, for this shoot we stuck closely to the metropolis vibe of the brand, shooting it against a city backdrop in North West London.

As for the release, ONLY NY continue to develop their range while aligning with the brands renowned aesthetic. With strong graphic pieces, a subtle colour palette and vintage sportswear informed designs, the Spring/Summer 2015 collection is another solid release from the New Yorker’s. The brands t-shirt selection in particular stands out this season, introducing new material applications and colour block treatments, giving a greater variety and more of a premium feel in places.

You can shop the full ONLY NY range at Urban Industry HERE.
